Hope he's as good as some of you advertise, because I've watched two preseason Pels games, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker is holding up from college to summer league to preseason with high IQ, great passing and shooting, and the ability to outplay his physical limitations.

I'm sure there will be no "hot takes" about Romeo Langford after the Orlando preseason game.

Re: Romeo Langford Thread
If Romeo is legit, we should be able to move Jaylen for a very good big now, and then slide Romeo into JBs spot, with fewer minutes of course, on that rookie deal ...so happy to FINALLY see him take on NBA talent !

Thats seems like were giving this kid far more credit than he deserves at this point. That’ll be a very heavy lift for a rook that hasn’t played one min yet and is injured. I’d lower those expectations

I want to see if Romeo defends, and how he blends with teammates.

Can’t wait to see him play. I was getting worried his first actual reps would be on a regular season game. Hopefully he can build some confidence tonight.

NAW and/or bitdaze was who I was screaming for at the Celtics pick.
NAW was my binkie.

Re: Romeo Langford Thread
Just watched a bunch of his high school highlights. Reminds me a little of Dwade or Jimmy Butler, maybe less grit but with more length.
Love his potential to be a really good two-way player who can take a hit and finish around the rim. His shooting form before the hand injury seemed a little smoother than the videos recently released from training camp where there appears to be a slight hitch...
He sort of fills in the gaps for the two Jay's, good ball handling, athletic, lock-up potential. My biggest concern is the laid back persona- that always gives me pause when there's a lack of perceived fire. Competitiveness and drive are not traits that can be taught.

NAW looks like Marquis Daniels. Quis with a 3ball would have been a darn good player.

Agree on the gap filling. The ball-handler/PNR guy who is more comfortable initiating from behind the arc.
He is laidback and that comes with some real downsides (lowish motor sometimes) but also some advantages. He takes his time in PNR, reads angles and defenders. I think that's going to make him a low-mistake player as he gets more seasoning and refines his skills. I think it will also help him perform in the clutch.

I’m hoping that he’s the laid back, sleepy type of player that dreamily blows by defenders mid-yawn.
Hey you! Can we come together?

Multiple sauces report that he reduced Marcus Smart to tears in practice, teasing Marcus with the ball like a mean uncle teases a child with a yo-yo.

Kinda OT but this made me imagine if Marcus Morris did that bop-your-forehead-with-the-ball trick he did to some schmuck the other day ... to Marcus Smart.

Keeping expectations low for the kid. Coming off an injury, hasn't played in a while.. not looking for a ton other than just play hard. Not to mention, watching the practice videos and his 3 ball looks awful. He'll need time to develop.

I hope he can contribute because not getting Tyler Herro will hurt even more if Romeo is a bust.
