can't shoot anything from anywhere, can't shoot ft's, so-so assists which he's no big deal anyway 4:3 asst/to ratio IN COLLEGE,

and he was covered by a dominating duke team where zion simply ran away as the mvp of that team, leaving rj with all the others. he big but college big, not ben simmons big.

what is he supposed to be?

Barrett does not have Melo's talent as a scorer at the same age.

He's on a lotto team with no real alpha dog and a lot to prove. He's gonna jack, and it's gonna be ugly. 38%.

I will say this, though. He's going to catch fire a few times and put up a few big games that get people excited for the future, deservedly or not. I say he gets to 40 twice at least.

Weird thread. Maybe? Summer league and 1 preseason game is basically nothing to go by, though.

Randle is the clear #1 option.

I actually say yes. This year's Knicks team somehow both had the most disappointing offseason yet are still clearly a better team than they were last season. It won't be as rough for RJ as it was for Knox or DSJ post trade

Depends o how many 3s he'll take.I'm guessing he'll shoot around 50% from 2pt rand and 30% from 3.

I'm thinking 41 or 42 percent. It'll probably depend on how many threes he's shooting, relatively. My gut feeling says he'll attack the rim enough to stay just above 40%.

I'm a Bulls fan so as a fan of another crap team, we discussed RJ a lot. The kid was despised as a prospect by a large percentage of our fanbase because of the issues coming up in this thread. Maybe we were wrong but RJ hate has nothing to do with the Knicks . . . yet.

That's a pretty low bar to clear, and considering even a guy like Michael Carter-Williams shot over 40% from the field his rookie year (and he was arguably the worst player ever to win ROTY), I'm gonna say yes, pretty comfortably.

With Luka-mania, and the retreat of Trae supporters, I haven’t even thought of RJ for weeks. So I am glad this thread was bumped and I get to check in on him.
