Will RJ Barrett shoot over 40% from the field this season?

He shot 45% at Duke, the pros will shave a few points off of that but he'll probably end up 40-42%. For comparisons sake Melo shot 42% on high volume as a rookie. I think Barrett can keep his raw shooting % at least slightly about 40.

Barrett does not have Melo's talent as a scorer at the same age.

He's on a lotto team with no real alpha dog and a lot to prove. He's gonna jack, and it's gonna be ugly. 38%.

I will say this, though. He's going to catch fire a few times and put up a few big games that get people excited for the future, deservedly or not. I say he gets to 40 twice at least.

I actually say yes. This year's Knicks team somehow both had the most disappointing offseason yet are still clearly a better team than they were last season. It won't be as rough for RJ as it was for Knox or DSJ post trade

I'm thinking 41 or 42 percent. It'll probably depend on how many threes he's shooting, relatively. My gut feeling says he'll attack the rim enough to stay just above 40%.

I'm a Bulls fan so as a fan of another crap team, we discussed RJ a lot. The kid was despised as a prospect by a large percentage of our fanbase because of the issues coming up in this thread. Maybe we were wrong but RJ hate has nothing to do with the Knicks . . . yet.

With Luka-mania, and the retreat of Trae supporters, I haven’t even thought of RJ for weeks. So I am glad this thread was bumped and I get to check in on him.
