Thats seems like were giving this kid far more credit than he deserves at this point. That’ll be a very heavy lift for a rook that hasn’t played one min yet and is injured. I’d lower those expectations

If Romeo is legit then he would have no problem taking a good chunk of Jaylen's minutes. JBs minutes would also be used to free up our insane wing logjam .....not to mention minutes for Carsen and Grant and Semi.

One thing is for sure -- his high school greatness taken alone is a weak predicter of NBA success. E.g., I think multiple Zellers have been Indiana Mr. Basketballs, Sully won one of the national high school player of year awards, and Semi is said to have won another of those.

I think we're gonna have the "very good big" vacancy until we use the Grizzlies pick. Whether it's in a trade or in the draft; that's where our legit big is gonna come from.

Disappointed in how little playing time he got. Half of them with those garbage chaos line-ups in the 4th.

Hopefully next game he can get some minutes with a true bench line-up alongside Smart.

Brad said he was only going to see light minutes tonight being freshly healthy. He did well getting in the paint but it’s concerning he didn’t attempt a jumper at all

He entered game and immediately just calmly took the ball and drove right thru defense to rim and finished like an elite athlete. Didn’t do much after.... but this kid is a legit talent. I already know I wouldn’t trade him straight up for Fultz...and to think we got Tatum too is incredible. Will there be a debate someday about bigger steal - Parish/McHale for Carroll or Tatum/Romeo for Fultz? Of course not! But it still looks very good!

I've been thinking the same thing, that the "throw in" in the Fultz/Tatum trade may end up being the player Fultz was supposed to be. Romeo is one cool cucumber.

TBF to Fultz who I still root for, it seems like a legit injury.

Romeo should change his number though. Need something smaller -- #45 doesn't look right on him.

He'll change it to 23 briefly after completing his first championship threepeat.

That drive was sweet, he looked levels above everyone on that play.

Jaylen's been drilling for years to be able to make a play like that, yeah.

Definitely, Scal was talking last night about how he needed to relearn using a fork with his right hand nevermind shooting a basketball. I'm glad we didn't pick him but I root for him too, hate seeing injuries take someone out.

Easier to root for him on the magic than Sixers

We got Tatum when we traded for Langford. So no complaints. He's like the Maraschino cherry on top of the gravy sundae.

Considering that he hadn't played competitive bball in 8 months and had never played (other than practice) with the other players on the floor, I thought Romeo's brief stint was pretty impressive.

He looked like he did in the draft hype video last night. Smooth handle with either hand, ability to get to every spot and create separation yet.... at end of the day the result isn’t great.....just like in college. Would you straight up trade Romeo for him? Carson? Grant? How about Waters? I thought Waters outclassed him last night.

It’s too bad if it’s due to injury but I still think there is more to it.

In college he had a silky smooth pull-up with deadly accuracy out the 3-point line. Even had it in summer league. Without it he's going to have to learn a new way to play. He's going to have to reinvent himself as a Shaun Livingston type 15-feet and in scoring guard if he can't relearn a jumper.

Hopefully between Carson/Romeo we have a legit bench pairing for Marcus. Anything to not have to see Brad Wanamaker in the rotation.

So many here have already relegated Marcus smart to the bench.

Far too soon to claim that in anyway.

Especially when the skills he brings are best fit beside kemba to cover his weaknesses and more importantly the BEST season in smarts career came starting beside kyrie.
