i apologized for entertaining thoughts of trading zhaire. with no highlight alley oops or put back duns, that was the best game ive seen from him. he looked like a guard. bringing back the john starks comparison.
i was waiting to be impressed by his man to man defense, and it was apparent last night. he used his body to hug ballhandlers after picks; something korkmaz has to learn. he doesnt have thybulle's knack with the hands, but he's there to block the floater.
he 'forced' joe johnson into a turnover. he stressed another dude one on one and the tipped the rock out of bounds leaving the pistons 2 seconds on the shot clock. wasn't asked to guard the point. but he looks good running around chasing shooters.
offensively, he peneterated to the cup but did not finish strong against a a weak defender, but stepped it up and didso thereafter. his turnover resulted from a good idea, but a bad no look pass to a trailing norvel pelle.
most impressively, he got a rebound, the defender thought he was gonna son the youngbau, after which zhaire ran it up court, gave dude a crossover behind the back at the three point line leaving his man in the dust, and the banged the wideopen three with no neither hesitation nor celebration. very pro.
just turned 20 in june and if last night were my first time seeing him or knowing anything about him, i'd be pretty excited considering his age.
