Almost dropped $350 for tickets to sit behind the Suns bench. I anticipated this though, which is why I was waiting til the last second. Not even sure it's worth it to watch the game at all.

You can just play them in the first half and sit them for the entire second half if needed. But they must play some minutes together and practice our halfcourt sets, the team does not have any chemistry yet.

And they have a full week to rest between preseason and the home opener. Bad decision.

This is a bit lame. It seems like they don't want our big three to get blown out, even if it is just preseason. No way at all is Ayton good enough to be given days off. Even Booker shouldn't be given nights off. Rubio is the only guy who actually deserves it. But, I almost don't want Booker in there if Rubio isn't because he'll just get used to being the main ball handler again. I would like to see a starting lineup of:

Jerome
Bridges
Oubre
Saric
Ayton

and have the offense go through Ayton almost exclusively. He desperately needs game reps to be coached and/or reprimanded for his soft play/lack of motor/disinterest in the game/lack of defensive awareness.

I wonder who we will start. Perhaps:

Jerome
Carter
Oubre
Saric
Baynes

since apparently it's illegal to start Bridges. I imagine Anfernee Simons will drop 40 on us in like 23 minutes or something.

Hopefully they don't start Jerome and Carter. Is Johnson injured? If so, they should just start Bridges at the 2 and then have a sub lineup of Carter, Okobo, Cam, Kaminsky and Diallo.

We Suns fans pretty much felt that way about Bender after every 4th or 5th game for the last 3 years, and I say this as a pro Bender Suns fan.

We do wish you luck with him though, no one wants to see an NBA-er really fail.

There was only a few of us who still had faith the "gum chomping" Bender was in there somewhere. He showed flashes here and there but obviously could never put it together consistently. I also don't think it was anything on the suns side of "not developing him properly" more of just the joe johnson syndrome where he's still young and trying to figure things out. It's cool to see him do so well as what he appears to be doing in the bucks box scores is exactly what most of us envisioned him doing in a suns uniform. Swiss army knife type ****.

In addition to Bums above, Bender turns 22 in a couple weeks. Jury will be out on him for another season at least. Poster boy for being too young/undeveloped to join the NBA. He should have been a draft and stashed dude, but as #4, too much hype and hope was put on him from the desparate McDoughnut regime. Very few 18 yr olds can come in and contribute.

Id say hes on schedule. Certainly a good value.

I just never saw how we could draft an over seas player, THAT HIGH who was a bench player averaging like 4 pts a game in his bench role?!?! He never made sense to me at all and never changed my mind about him in the years he spent here.

Bender sucks. I dont think he will ever be more than a bench player. Not sure what the obsession is with all of our players who leave. They didnt do anything for us. Let them go. It's always about the situation.

Exactly this^ ... stop worrying about what players do when they go elsewhere. even if Bender becomes an all star, or josh jackson, or whoever, doesn't mean they would have if we kept them. Much like Jayson Tatum might have been underwhleming if he was here for the last few horror years and not under brad Stevens.

I like our team this year, lets enjoy it.

CHA let Kaminsky walk. He was their #9 pick. Saric was Philly's, and they gave him away for... nothing actually. Oubre was a highly-touted young prospect, but WAS let him go for nothing as well. BOS gave us Jerome WITH Baynes for a future super-low FRP.

Jalen Lecque now occupies Josh Jackson's roster spot, and I'd take that kid's ceiling over Josh's at this point for sure.

Point is, you can't just focus on what we've lost without seeing what we've gained. They go hand in hand. Keep Bender, lose Kaminsky. Keep TJ, lose Oubre. Etc.

And we just beat Portland last night so it's hard to complain about Chriss and Bender. Yeesh!

Even though Bender blows up and becomes an amazing player, I wouldn't blame James Jones because Bender was and still a total mystery as a player. He has potential obviously. He has all the tools to become a perfect pf in today's league but can he be consistent? Can he become an outside threat? Is he going to show more confidence and toughness on the court? If he figures all those things yes he would be useful for an NBA team but there is a big possibility that he might not figure out those things this season. We chose Kaminsky and Diallo over Bender right? Does Bender have more potential? Yes. Is he what Suns need this year? No. This team got19 wins last year. Our rotation cannot include players that might show some flashes and might become useful, we need consistent, proven players and players we chose are that. Milwaukee can take a chance on Bender because with or without him they are a champion contender on the other hand we don't have that kind of luxury.

btw i believe that Bender can definitely become a good player. He just entered the league too early with too much expectation. Suns had the worst environment for him to grow as a player. I hope he becomes a solid player and i'm rooting for him.

Bender played scared here, and always had a lost in the headlights look! Hope he can gain confidence, and hope he can stick around. Doesnt mean he would have done it here

Ultimately, you got him for nothing and with no expectations. He's flashed the game he played throughout these 3 games previously but after watching him for 3yrs, I think it was time for him to move on from the #4 pick expectations we had and we needed to move on from the mistake we made back in 2016.

Philly didn't give Dario away, he was a key piece in the Butler deal. He just didn't work out with the wolves.

Kaminsky and Bender are actually interesting comparisons because it goes to show picks can not work out for lots of reasons. Kaminsky was one of the most 'ready' dudes that draft and they would have been better off taking the raw young guy in Booker. Proves theirs no magic formula for hitting on draft picks.

It is ridiculous that professional athletes eat that **** during a game. Come on, it is OK to eat some garbage here or there in your free time but on the bench in a game?

I know that is like a "tradition" in the NBA, I have seen candy on the benches a lot in the past, but they need to change it. If they want some fast glucose they can eat a banana or another fruit.

Hopefully Ayton usually does not eat that ****.
I am pretty sure that Booker already takes care of his diet, not sure about Ayton.

I don't see whats wrong with this. If you don't want to eat candy then don't, but why force your opinions on others? Is this what the world has come to? We are now candy shaming elite athletes that run more in a week then most of us in a year? Maybe we should Gatorade shame them to. That sh*ts got more sugar in it then the candy does.
