Anyone notice the headlines that Rockets PJ Tucker wants an extension now. He's 34 and under contract for 2 more years and he wants an extension. His 2nd year is only guaranteed for $2.6M. Why would any sane GM extend his contract? He's likely on his last contract and he's lucky if he gets his unguaranteed final year.

This is a great breakdown on how some college players get overlooked:

Wiretap: Kevin Durant Hoped To Return To Oklahoma City Before Receiving Poor Treatment Upon Leaving

Lesson: Don't burn bridges.

I was always a little surprised LeBron went back to Cleveland after the way fans treated him for leaving. Its understandable that emotions run high, but you never know what will happen in this business.

The relevance to the Blazers is previous reports that Aldridge would be open to returning to Portland. I don't know if that will ever happen or if we even want it to, but the fact that he was openly talking about a return tells me we have a classy franchise and classy fans who know not to burn bridges even when things don't work out how you hoped.

That headline is a bit misleading

"I'll never be attached to that city again because of that," said Durant. "I eventually wanted to come back to that city and be part of that community and organization, but I don't trust nobody there. That s--t must have been fake, what they was doing. The organization, the GM, I ain't talked to none of those people, even had a nice exchange with those people, since I left."

It's seems a lot more like he meant that after he was done with basketball he wanted to be a part of the community (he also owns restaurants there). However, you did that to yourself when you had a 3-1 lead, blew it, then left your team to sleep walk into a championship with the very team that just tore that cities heart out the year prior. Then you have the balls to think that everyone there should just welcome you back with open arms. Thats ridiculous. KD is a child. I don't blame OKC one bit in how they've responded to that. Good for them. What do they need him back there for? To wave at fans during a timeout of a game after he's retired? Please. Shouldn't have left in the first place. Your legacy would be in a lot better place than it is now.

Well we can respectfully disagree, players are allowed to make their own destiny especially when their contract is up. Mostly I was just proud of the Blazer fans and organization that we hear the exact opposite from Aldridge. That he is open to a return speaks volumes about the class of our organization. Kill 'em with kindness.

Blazers signed a couple g-league guards to exhibit-10 contracts.

What's an exhibit-10 contract? Someone needs to look it up. I'm too lazy. I believe it's not as good as a 2-way but is better than a straight camp deal. I think it's supposed to help the NBA keep better talent in the US (g-league) rather than losing players to overseas.

There's no guarantee so what's better about it. There is some conditional guarantees. The player gets a full minimum camp deal plus a $50k bonus if he joins his team's g-league affiliate for 60 gays.

I think these are the differences but I'm not sure. It's possible all camp deals are the same but I think the exhibit-10 is supposedly a sweeter deal to keep better players in the States.

Here's the training camp roster:

24 Kent Bazemore, G/F, 6-5, 200
4 Moses Brown, C, 7-1, 245
10 Troy Caupain, G, 6-4, 210
33 Zach Collins, F/C, 7-0, 250
16 Pau Gasol, F/C, 7-0, 250
44 Mario Hezonja, F, 6-8, 220
6 Jaylen Hoard, F, 6-9, 210
5 Rodney Hood G/F, 6-8, 205
17 Skal Labissiere, F/C, 6-11, 235
0 Damian Lillard, G, 6-3, 195
9 Nassir Little, F, 6-6, 220
3 CJ McCollum, G, 6-3, 190
27 Jusuf Nurkic, C, 7-0, 290
8 London Perrantes, G, 6-2, 200
1 Anfernee Simons, G, 6-4, 190
43 Anthony Tolliver, F, 6-8, 245
2 Gary Trent Jr., G, 6-6, 205
21 Hassan Whiteside, C, 7-1, 265

With Nurkic injured, that's 17 players. The only story to me is, why not 20 players. We only have 3 or 4 extras and Gasol is 40 years old. It seems like 17 is the bare minimum.

I can't believe how much I am looking forward to this season. It's been 19 years since I have been this eager for the season to get started.
