I think he's closer to being a shorter and bulkier version of Kelly Oubre.

I don't know how we can look at it as anything but a disappointment that Zhaire couldn't beat out Shake Milton and Furkan Korkmaz for playing time, though.

Pretty low bar, considering what a nightmare his Philly experience has been so far. Best thing for HIM of course is playing time instead of being red shirted. Maybe his agent can facilitate a trade.

Perhaps it's not the Brett "thinks" he's not ready. Rather, Brett and the organization have the luxury to be in a position where they can take their time in bringing him along, letting him become proficient at the role they have in mind for him through reps in the G league and the occasional "human white/checkered flag" His game doesn't appear to me as clean as Thybulle's, and doesn't have the vet savvy of Ennis, although in many situations that wouldn't stop him from contributing, like for the peak-Process teams or maybe a Brooklyn from last year or Pelicans this year. As it is, they can focus maximizing hus development as there isn't a critical need right now. That could change by the trade deadline, and he could have had enough reps, based on the talent he already has demonstrated, to step in, but right now they can bring him along slowly. Perhaps may see similar for Shake, although I feel he'll spend very little time in Delaware if any.Kobblehead wrote:I think Zhaire's "rawness" is overstated.
He's raw on the ball as a shotcreater and playmaker, but we have no need for him in a role like that.
He's a born-ready defender with cutting and crashing ability. And his shot isn't even that far away. I don't understand why Brett doesn't think he's playable yet. Everything about his game is plug and play.

Ennis is a journeyman JAG.
Thybulle is a rookie that can't score.
Milton is a 2nd round pick.
Korkmaz is a guy on his 2nd chance with the team.
Smith failing to meet expectations of Brett is not a good thing.
