Yeah, Denver not playing a ton of minutes to their starting 5 but they are definitely out there. Reserves really doing a good job overall to keep this game competitive.

Hilarious seeing Denver try the same strategies against Simons as we see against Lillard hard double teams at the 3 point line. The level of respect paid by Denver for a player that barely saw the court last year is pretty damn ridiculous.

Collins has looked not great at times, but I like how he's kept trying. I think that's a good sign that he will continue to improve.

He has had stretches where he has looked incredible on both sides, I think it's just being consistent with him he has the tools to be a great player.

It's not respect when the defense is gambling that you can't find the open man.

Did anyone hear that dumbass trade rumor the Denver commentators mentioned? Whiteside, Collins, and Trent for Griffin. Yeah, that trade will happen right after Nuggets trade Jokic for Love.

Blazers have a bunch of non NBA players in the game playing like they don't belong in the NBA.

Best to give minutes to guys like that so we can see which of them we end up keeping on the roster.

Indeed, but I really don't care how good our 5 guys riding the bench almost 24/7 are, if we are playing them in meaningful games or minutes we are in huge trouble with injuries.

Didn't catch the game but Hezonja with an impressive line. He looks like a pretty natural playmaker, sees opportunities that others miss. Like I know Turner was billed as a good passer but he was never very creative whereas Mario has a bit of that creativity to his game. So if he can be a threat from 3 he would be huge for our bench (and maybe even a starter).

Turner didn't fit with Lillard and CJ as well as was envisioned by NO, but remember he wasn't our first choice. Whiteside, Bazemore and Gasol were pursued by Blazers before we settled on Turner.

The differences I see between Mario and Turner in the plus column are shooting and hopefully chemistry. They are both very good passing bigs that can handle. In the negative column, Turner is probably stronger and a better defender.

Didn't see the game, but this comment... Yikes! I would stay far, far away from Griffin. Saw some :clown: with a podcast on youtube suggesting something similar, getting us another star in Griffin. Just laughable.

I really don't understand this. Griffin was tremendous last season. If we pay a depreciated price, which we should based on his injury history, it would be a great move. What other player in this league that is reasonable available could improve this team as much as Blake? There really isn't anyone. Blake, (big gap) then Gallo, (big gap) then Love are the possibly available guys that could help this team take a jump into LAC tier. Arguable LMA can be included as well, but I don't see Pops blowing it up so close to retirement.

As for the game, and preseason in general, there is a strong argument that Mario has played considerable better than Kent and Hood. I am getting excited for him. I think there is a non-zero percent chance he becomes our starting SF this season, which is something few would have said when we signed him. We could have a non-charmin soft Hedo Turkoglu lite' on our hands.

I think Moses Brown has shown more than enough to be given a 2-way contract. He has a poor motor and looks like bambi at times, but he can impact the game with his length and barely knows how to play it, that's something to like considering how good he could be if developed. I think he has more potential than Hoard to be honest, who is sorta just-a-guy at forward. Brown is really switchable for his size (Still not great, but not a dinosaur either) and has length you cant teach.

EDIT - Welp, looks like we already gave him a 2-way. Great move. Dude is 7'2.5 with shoes w/ a 7'5 wingspan and 9'5 standing reach, but most importantly is very athletic and agile for his size. At moments when he switched he was able to sit extremely low for a big. I am unreasonably high on him and even if he only becomes DeSangana Diop, that's a quality 3rd center.

Turner is probably stronger and a better defender.

I can give you better defender, but Mario is really well built for a SF. I don't think ET is stronger. I have already seen Mario finish through contact far better than ET.
