So he’s this year’s Brook? Is there a third Lopez for next year?

Fantastic thread bump here.

A few of you proclaimed Lopez done last year. The reality is the Bulls didn't know what they were doing (tanking or competing) and how to use him. So RoLo got bored and didn't get regular minutes. Probably comparable to Bill Walton getting frustrated with the Clippers, before joining the 1985 Celtics. :D

He will dominate against most backup centers, but what about the Kyle O’Quinnes of the league?

Yesterday when Paul Pierce and others were talking up the Bucks it was mentioned that Robin Lopez himself wanted to be (Big) Thunder Mountain; makes sense unless he's Splash Mountain Part 2 and just cements how fun this team could be off the court and with their celebrations/interviews this year! At first I wasn't sold on adding him, mainly because he seemed a bit mercurial whenever I saw him play in Chicago, but on second thought this team could use some of his spice, especially if officials get a bit biased.

He is an absolute load down there. More physical and a better defender than Brook. It is going to be an absolute challenge for any team to score in the paint vs. us. Our combination of size/speed/scheme has to be a nightmare for our opponents. You essentially have to shoot out of your mind on above the break 3s to crack it.

If Robin becomes a reliable three shooter I like him more than Brook pretty comfortably.

Equally important, we kept him away from Boston and both LA teams.

I look forward to never having to explain why Robin Lopez is significantly better than Greg Monroe, John Henson or Thon Maker ever again after this season. If we just got him 5 years ago I could have shaved off about 1k posts.

What about Miles Plumlee?

Bucks had the wrong Plumlee, the right Lopez, and most importantly- the right Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks briefly had the right Plumlee (Marshall). Pleased that we are finally at a point where Marshall Plumlee is not better than anybody on our roster.

Through 10 games this looks like a really rough signing, though it obviously doesn’t sting too much considering the salary. Think we all got swept up in too much cutesy Lopez brothers stuff and took for granted a notion that Brook’s 3pt prowess would undergo some magic twin transfer onto Robin. Complete offensive hindrance. People hanging onto hope that he’s gonna be some type of Embiid stopper are absolutely dreaming. Dude can barely move on that end. Unfortunately just a really poor fit. Oh well, swing and a miss. Hopefully his contract comes in handy on December 15th.

The four exclamation points in the title seemed like a bit much even before we found out how much he sucks.

I'm still optimistic. If nothing else, he's a big body who will use his six fouls. I still remember how much of a struggle it was playing undersized at the 5 (Thon) defensively. He's definitely in a funk offensively, but I think he's be smart enough to figure it out.

I’d be a okay having a 3rd center who’s primary function is to provide size. Same with Korver as a 3 point specialist. I’d prefer both of those dudes and even Wes be used as more utility guys and have the more athletic and versatile young dudes be more entrenched in the rotation. There will be growing pains with them but I feel the upside would be greater.
