If Pistons cut Christian Wood, I’m taking this year off

Post#1 » by Han Solo » Sat Oct 19, 2019 12:35 am

Seriously, this kid isn’t a fluke or a preseason success. He’s going to be good in the NBA. If we cut him he will be picked up in minutes by another team. This is one of those players that figured it out. He was even good as an undrafted rookie. He will not be a 13th man for us this year, he is good enough to play and help us win. Every once in awhile you get lucky with players like this.

If you want to keep Joe Johnson, trade someone to make it work. Cutting Christian Wood would be absolutely stupid and will just be more of the same stuff we’ve had to sit through and watch the last 10 years. Mark my words, if we keep this kid he is going to be a success story for us. Keep the kid that is hungry. That’s what this team needs. He’s earned it too, what kind of message are you sending to your fans if you cut Christian Wood?

I like Wood too, and hope and expect that they'll keep him. However, I'm too old to take years off. :D

If you're truly that close to the edge, then just take the season off. The team will surely do something at least this disappointing as this.
Count that baby and a foul!

Seriously. Another title in my lifetime, please. Not looking good on that front right now, although I should have another 30 years or so.

No one should have to experience Wood getting cut.

Everyone should experience Wood getting extended though.

Are we allowed to offer him a extension before the offseason though?

It might be a premature extension. Just sayin'.

LOL this exchange made my day..I'm glad Wood isn't a big stiff some thought he was. Now I feel like Casey needs to stop thinking he is just a situational player and give him 15-20 minutes a game.

The best part of Wood honestly, and didn't see it coming, is how natural he looks with dribble penetration and scoring at the rim

Wood stroked it well from beyond the arc as well, going 3 for 3...
