Also IRT Darby getting that title shot i think it can be the beauty of the W/L record thing if played right. By that i mean someone like Darby can hit a mini hot streak with these being the early days of AEW, so he (and others like him in terms of relatively unknown to the masses) can be plugged in or tried out on that Main Event stage. A good believable performance allows you to continue with a real push for him and if it doesn't then you can move on to someone else. End of the day we know who the main guys are gonna be so those records later down the line when things get established further in AEW are gonna keep those guys in the positions we're accustomed to, in the meantime why not build others and with the records we have evidence of push. Plus i think it opens up storylines and feuds if they handle it correctly.

I haven't watched yet but this is exactly how you legitimize your mid-card guys. You give them good, hard-fought losses against your top guys where they get to show what they can do and try to get themselves over. It always kills me how WWE has all these amazing wrestlers and they constantly have guys feuding fight each other for six months at a time. Variety is the spice of life. Mix it up. Give us some awesome Raw and Smackdown matches between guys who aren't feuding just for the sake of good wrestling and letting guys get themselves over.

Just got around to watching this week's episode.

I have no complaints with this show. They're doing everything right at the moment. It's not revolutionizing the way I think about pro wrestling, but they're putting on a good show every week.

I'm even coming around on the "wins matter"thing, which I normally don't like (hate and think is stupid). I was expecting them to beat us over the head with it, but it's been very subtle so far. I'm just so used to Michael Cole shouting things at us over and over like we're children. I guess I thought we'd get JR shouting "WIN'S MATTER HERE, FOLKS. REMEMBER THAT" and cutting to a "LOOK, WE ARE A REAL SPORT" Leaderboard every 3 minutes. Instead, their records are just shown on the screen during their entrance. Brilliant! And it's already added small amounts of meaning to matches that wouldn't be there otherwise. In this episode, Pac got pissed at Mox for nearly getting them disqualified. This is commonplace in WWE but never makes any sense. There's not much incentive for Pac to really care about this unless it means a loss on his record.

Every match was good in this episode. That video package for Cody was as good or better than WWE.

I agree with the earlier comments about entrance music. Entrances in general feel pretty samey. But, honestly, I don't find myself caring. Everything else is just so reliably exciting.

Do not agree with some of you on Darby. I think he's great and I completely agree with the decision to give him a title match.

I'm totally done with WWE TV. I haven't watched a full episode in years, but I know what's going on and usually check out segments and matches that are recommended to me. There's zero reason for anyone to watch that product right now, given the alternatives.

Also, there's nothing more heelish than having Fozzy as your entrance music. That band **** sucks. What a genius decision by the AEW crew. Surprised they got the rights.

I have one gripe with AEW, the music sucks, its horrible. mostly everyone's music is super generic except for Jericho (who sang his own theme), Cody (had a theme made for him) and the young bucks (their dad sang their theme).

Kenny's theme is horrible (compare his current theme to his new japan theme and its night and day, he went from final boss music to garbage).

They need to get someone on the music badly, music is so important to wrestling that it can breath new life into guys (remember alex riley, probably not, but if you here that theme you'll remember that).

OMFG, I just found out that Luchasauras is Austin Matelson. :o As a HUGE Big Brother fan I'm so glad that Austin has achieved his dream of making it big in the wrestling industry.

Same, though I think to truly reach his potential he needs to drop the gimmick. Kind of a fun character but at its core is just bingo hall Indy stuff.

Probably, but he's got a great gimmick for now and should keep riding that. His tag team is wildly over and there's really no reason to break that up right now.

Probably means nothing, but Randy Orton posted this. Tagged Scott Dawson, Dash Wilder, Luke Harper, Riddick Moss, Elias, Cody, and Chris Jericho.

Orton be trolling but it would be damn good.

Then again Vince would probably jump off titan towers if his (2nd, after Cena of course) favourite son went to AEW.

Lol Orton is trolling, but he's the guy I'd most like to see in AEW, other than Cena, obviously.

Would absolutely love Orton in AEW. If there's anyone who's been able to IMO stay interesting it's Orton but i do think he's done about all that can be done in WWE. A change of scenery would be perfect for him i think.

Orton has been minimized to enough of a degree over the past few years that it is believable. The WWE certainly doesn't present him like a 13 time champion anymore.

Having said that, most people really don't believe he's serious about AEW

A big match with John can solidify or elevate a wrestler's status as a star. And in AEW you'd likely avoid hurting anyone with bad booking. Punk and Bryan would be examples of the former and Bray and Rusev examples of the latter. Who do they have like that now? Omega and Jericho I guess? Neither have the big match resume in North America like Cena does.

More importantly, I also think he's a great wrestler and I'd like to see him perform outside of the WWE style. It would be like Hogan's matches in Japan. I just want to see what that looks like.

I've only been watching again since 2014 but I never understood why Orton skates by so easily with the smarks. He has as much heart as Andrew Wiggins and has been my #1 5 Moves of Doom guy for years, he's basically just waiting to do his back body drop on the table, DDT off the rope and going to that place, for someone who's supposed to move around so effortlessly the rest of his matches in between his moves are slow, probably he didn't spend any time with the other wrestler planning things. He should have more moves that use his athleticism for a big man like Braun's shoulder tackle or Roman's drive by, like he had one where Ali was standing on the turnbuckle and Orton ran into him full speed and threw him off it into the barricade, and it was a great mix of size/speed that he doesn't do often. His character work is fine in my opinion especially as a heel, but I don't enjoy him wrestle at all. Like once every two years he has a match he gets up for like wrestling in front of his father at Money in the Bank or wrestling Triple H and you can see a noticeable difference.

All of which makes him a good candidate for something new in AEW.
