“We’ve gotta execute better. We’ve gotta figure out, OK, they’re not doing anything that they were doing maybe the first five, six weeks of the season. They’ve transitioned to this, make those adjustments and go out there and just make plays. Tackle. Set edges,” Thomas said.

Did Bettcher prepare for this game with old tape?

yeah, Shurmur has to go.

Not a fan of DG either. Think hes a little too old school/stubborn

Any more of these McVay guys available? His barber maybe? They must talk football sometimes

Shurmur isn't the guy and DG was never the guy. Enough of this old people sh*t...league is going young get with the f*cking times Mara

get a young smart GM and then get a young up and coming coach with what should be a young developing roster.

Idk if I'm out on Getty yet. He's amassed some promising young talent and I agree with building from the lines out. He's also made his share of mistakes, but I think he's taking more steps forwards than backwards.

Shurmur, I just don't know what he's doing. He's basically Jeff Hornacek. Alleged offensive prowess that doesn't seem to deliver, and just baffling as a game manager.

I think the assumption is that we have been doing well in drafts and I would hope so because we are picking in top 5 every year. He also traded one of the best players in NFL for additional draft capital so he should look pretty good.

But the offensive line still sucks (need 2 new tackles)
We get no pressure on d-line (invested a ton of high picks there)
We have no play making linebackers
We lack a true #1 WR
We have no FS

So while it’s nice he believed in Barkley and Jones. I still haven’t seen overall talent improvement of the overall roster. His FA and traded have been disadterious (solder, ogletree, Bethesda, remmers, Tate (he’s the exact same player as Sheppard terrible duplication).

Has he been as bad as shurmur no but I want a new regime I want a young GM that uses a different methods. Trades down and acquires more draft capital. And also find a new coach.

By the way DG regime picked shurmur to be the HC so he has to take some flack for that.

Reese picked ObJ, JPP, and some other good players but could never build a complete team so I am not about to say we are improving when it’s likely we will be 2-11 going into week 15. I see the cardinals roster talent improving I don’t see ours to the level it should with all the assets he was given.

Shurmur is a bum and not even worth discussing. DG is getting a pass for turning this roster over when he thought the roster could compete with Eli...that’s false, hired Shurmur, and has signed and traded for zero impact players. Just reaping the rewards of high picks because Reese couldn’t build a competitive team isn’t special in my eyes.

Very fair.

After the Reese debacle, just putting a team together like a 12 year old on Madden, I just don't mind someone getting back to basics.

I'm not overly high on DG. Wouldn't shed a tear if we showed him the door. I just have optimism in the young core.

I guess what I’m saying is I know Shurmur is a dud.

But DG doesn’t get a pass from me. He has had 4 1st round picks in 2 years and 2 of them high high first rounders. We should have a good young core. That’s a given. But we still lack any improvement in positions of need.

connelly was looking like a legit stud.

and don't discredit the first rounders when he took lawrence and got shredded by the media pundits. look at lawrence now, top 10 player in his position.

giants have one of the best special team units, he built that.

nfl qb's scrambled and extend plays, so you need a good secondary. he drafted 3 cb's, and last year had beal.

it takes 3-4 drafts to fully rebuild.

That’s fair so your basically saying he has one more year to prove himself or he’s out. Because let’s say we finish the year 4-12 or 5-11 which is likely. We would now be 9-23 under his regime. This league is first and foremost about winning. The ravens switched qbs without a 3-4 year grace win down. Why does he get 4 years?

Connect looked like a competent starter and it’s unfortunate he got hurt. But he used high 3rd round pick on Beal and he hasn’t played a down so he needs to make sure he plays this year so he has to trade Jenkins.

He let a lot of our previous high picks go via trade and FA.

The solder signing has been one of the worst signings in recent history. He’s a below average LT getting paid elite LT money.

Ogletree and beathea are two of the worst pickups
Of all time they literally do nothing on the field.

I wasn’t on board with DG from the beginning because he’s a scout at heart. He can draft a bit but building a roster is a different animals you need to nail FA too and manage the cap with players at key positions.

Like shurmur sometimes good coordinators don’t make good head coaches. Sometimes scouts don’t make good GM’s. The game is dominated by young minds and we got a guy that should be in a retirement home. The nfl game has changed and we got someone from the stone ages making decisions.

Will Hernandez is very solid. Slayton and Ximenes are trending up. Still waiting to see about Love and Beal. Carter and Hill are serviceable with potential for more.

DG has a decent hit rate.

Giants signed Deone Bucannon.

Let's hope he has a revival like Golden is having.

Hmm at the time, a lot of Jets fans thought he was the steal of the draft since he was the most NFL ready at the time. Just leveled off after 2 seasons. Hopefully he works out better for you guys.

Also, is it wise to be buyers at 2-6?

It won't be Solder. He's awful, but we can't afford to lose him.

Jackrabbit makes sense, since Beal is coming back.

This is to get younger at positions of need. Leonard is what, 23? Jackrabbit is next on the list.

IDG why Gettleman gave him that money. Dude is a step slow against fast edge rushers.
