This is why Muhammad Ali is most iconic sport figure in history. He was ready to throw everything away to fight for what he belived was right fight.

And that's why Lebron is hypocrit that will act woke , wear " i can't breath" shirts and wear nike shoes produced in China where people work for 16 hours a day for $2 so his company can sell them for $200 to spoiled rich kid in Germany, Canada or LA.

Typical company man, that's why nike signed him for life. If Nike decides to produce nuclear bombs, he will be first to shoot commercial for it.
Ali cost himself money, not everyone. If Lebron was only speaking for himself it would be different. Morey is costing the whole economy money.

What if your company did business in China and one of your co workers spoke out against them. Then on payday you notice everyone in the companies pay was cut by a third. Was it your co workers right to speak out and cost everyone money?

I pitty a league and people that acts all woke when NFL players kneele during their national anthems and refuse to visit president that their nation voted for in democrat eletions, yet have to "shut up and dribble" when comunist party tells them to do so, all because of money.
In general how sad it is that second most popular in USA needs china money to keep a league going?

Alis stood for what was right, Lebron can shut up and dribble. This is moment of his career that made him politycy irrelevant.
Woke is understanding that the assistant trainer with 3 kids is going to be let go. Morey lives in a bubble where he's already got his.

Do you think Morey would've said something if he was behind on his mortgage?

Ditto for Lebron who was never told no by anybody in his life.
He even had nerve to call Morey uneducated on subject.

Morey didn't realize he was costing people jobs or simply doesn't care. He's selfish.

I'm sure Lebron's bottom line is less of his concern than what he thinks the effects will be on the NBA.

I could care less about him but he wasn't wrong for not speaking out because it effects thousands of people. The NBA and players association are the ones that needed to take the lead on who they do business with.

Lebron would've been selfish to say something and have 100's or even 1000's of people laid off because of him.

Morey will be out of the league soon because of this. Probably at the end of this year and I doubt he gets another job in the NBA.

Become assistent GM at age of 32, as GM made one of most lobsided trades in history of basketball for future league's mvp James Harden. Made playoffs each and every year with Houston. Has incredible win-loss record. One of most established personalities in nba, also one of best educated ones.
LItearlly every single company in the world will throw millions at him in moment they hear he looks for a job. Needless to say all other 29 nba teams as well.

Morey worked as a Principal consultant with an emphasis on sports at The Parthenon Group, a leading strategy consulting firm. Morey was also a statistical consultant with STATS, Inc., the industry pioneer in the use of sports statistics highlighted in the Michael Lewis book Moneyball.

Morey holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science with an emphasis on statistics from Northwestern University, as well as an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Morey, who currently serves as an adjunct professor in the Sport Management Program at Rice University, was also the professor for the MIT Sloan class, “Analytical Sports Management.” He continues to be a co-chair of the annual MIT Sloan Sports Conference, which is the largest annual sports conference hosted by a business school. In 2012, Fast Company actually ranked the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference third among its Most Innovative Companies in Sports, trailing only the NFL and MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM).

As for Lebron, he is out of nba in next 3 years as player. I don't see any owner selling a team any time soon so he will like Kobe just fade.

I doubt it. Even SVG wouldn't touch that subject a couple days afterwards on Bianca's radio show. The only reason Morey hasn't lost his job already is because of PR. He'll have to be perfect to keep his job after this year.

I wonder if Morey would've said something if he was a new guy, had no money in the bank, a mortgage, and baby on the way? Well what he did effected people like that.

Because guys like Kerr act all woke when topic is american, but have zero desire to fight for something with actual stakes. Difference between people who make difference in the world ,and crybabies who just complain for sake of complaining.

Stop with this charry-picky "sensitive " crap. NBA workers are still one of best payed workes in usa. Average salary of executives is freaking $150 K a year.
In mean time you have this factories of Nike, in deal with comunist party where 80% of employers are female workes, with most of them being underaged , working for 14-16 hours a day, 7 days a week, without any holidays, because comunism treats you like livestock, not human. And that's side you wanna choose because some overpayed hax who's job is to measure feets runned by player ,who works 5 days a week, 8 hours max , has salary decreesed ?

There was guy on youtube, asian one, who went to China "undercover", in "good " factory he had room that he shared with 8 men and 200 men shared same bathroom and toilet. What a great living, but hey, one executive will now no longer afford himself Audi R8, he will have to settle down with regular Audi 8, that costs $75 000, what a rought times :banghead:

Jaylen Brown gets more $$ than Buddy Hield.

Thoughts? Agree? Disagree?

I am a fan of both and for different reasons. Not sure for me.

Sabonis for $74M over 4 years? Pacers have done well to keep him on a very tradable contract. Good deal for them. I suspect he'll outgrow that contract pretty quickly.

It seems like a lot more players are signing extensions now. Next year I guess the Fournier and JI could get one, although it hasn't been our M.O. to do that.
