defense stunk today but occasionally that will happen and that will be cleaned up i assume

but the offense was really great, and continues to be great the last few weeks. more and more of a trend now, could keep this up for a while with any luck

hopefully thielen's injury isn't too serious

I think its pretty clear this offense took a major turn when we went from running it 60+% of the time to actually having an equal offense. Now we actually throw it on 1st down, we take shots down the field, Diggs and Thielen are actually getting targets and targets that show their strengths. Look at today when we actually target our TEs. All the skill guys were being ridiculously underused the first few weeks.

Before we would only throw it when it was an obvious passing down and we would do this super conservative routes. We have really opened up the passing game and actually letting our 80 million dollar QB actually get a chance to throw the ball to our pro bowl caliber skill players and its working out. If Zimmer can keep his hands out of the offense and let them continue to do what they're doing, our offense wont be an issue.

Its great when we can get a division win on the road with our defense putting up a terrible performance.

Yeah the offense looks pretty great recently. The big thing is that Cousins seems to be getting time to throw.

No sacks, three knockdowns in 34 pass attempts. I simply didn't think it was possible for our line to block like that.

He's getting more time to throw, and even looks like it when he's not, because less defenders can sit in the 5 yards on either side of the line of scrimmage, and less defenders can safely rush the QB when the offense is targeting itself more beyond that region. Less jailbreaks through our line because less unblocked extras threatoning to come in, equals less punishment for the QB and him seeing more of the field better.

Good to hear they kept it going through Detroit. How long can it last before the inevitable? Anyone's guess. My latest possible guess at a date would be the game after the late season bye. But if they can sustain this approach until then they should be fine to skate a couple games.

If your worried about Zimmer getting conservative again, I would assume that's most likely to follow a bad Cousins turnover or two. Zimmer isn't going to step in and change an offense that's working. If you remember last season, the more conservative offense followed a couple of bad turnovers against the Saints.

Yes that is the concern and is proven and mostly spot on. A couple mistakes that he gets lots of questions about will send the team into a self medicated tailspin. Was strange to see him start ball heavy and conservative this year and then open it up weeks later. I suppose when half your team is ready to quit on you and ask for trades things must happen. Let's see how long it holds.

But he has changed an offense that's working in the past to the detriment a few times now. Most notably the coup that took place the bye week of 2016 after 5 straight wins looking like a juggernaut of a balanced squad. Came out of the bye with half the arms cut off the QB and routes shorter than can be drawn on paper. Season over. The other season may have been less apparent, but just as real. A team with an offense that is working shouldn't be flipped on its head like flipping a turrle because of one bad tunrover or even one horrible game of multiple turnovers. Should just get back on the horse, but Zimmer just shoots the horse.

Likely out. Diggs will ask for every possible aditional pass and go for his first 200 yard game to finally out do Thielen's 202 yard game and rip his own hamstring next. Should be an easy Washington game but I don't know what they are like now with a different coach.

our defensive ends are getting really far up field on their rushes, which is leaving some wide open lanes for keenum to run if he wants (he hasn't so far).
