Excellent work by Silver fixing something that is completely irrelevant to most people.

As I've said it before, I'll say it again, Silver is way out of his league. No idea how he's the comiss, he's pathetic and has done nothing relevant in his run so far. Imo, the league has actually gotten worse.

The league has gotten significantly better under Silver, although it’s not due to anything that he has done. It’s due entirely to the influx of talent over the past couple of seasons.

Silver is a terrible commissioner but he hasn’t done anything to harm the league.

The two of you are acting like this was some major undertaking by the league instead of a relatively simple thing to do.

This is pointless in general, but it's even pointless for its intended goal with no oversight.

So have official 'certified' heights started?

Close enough. Local media reported yesterday that KP measured in at 7'2.75" without shoes, and Boban at 7'3.5".

Luka came in at 6'6.75". He'd be 6'8" if he had shoes on, so basically he hasn't grown since last year. Barea claims to have measured 5'10" in socks.

Depends on what the NBA means by "certify". If the team doctor has to sign off on it as part of the player's physical, then the numbers will probably be reasonably accurate. They may round up at the player's request, but I doubt they'll do anything egregious.

You'll know the certification is BS if guys like Kevin Love and Jae Crowder don't get their official heights adjusted downwards.

Who cares about height with socks? They play with shoes.

I read that KAT is going to be listed at 6'11 which is obvious BS....he's the same height as Dwight/AD.

Because that's the definition of height...

"the measurement from base to top or (of a standing person) from head to foot."

Are football players measuring height with their helmet on? What about hair? You want to count that too? Fox is playing with his hair on the last time I checked.

Please tell me they have an actual physicians height/weight scale and this is not the way they'll do the height measurement.

Isaac at 6'11" and Bamba at 7 are the only ones that got bigger with the Magic.

Exactly, but to me it's more stunning what he managed to do in his career if he would tell his real height. A lot more respect after officially seeing how short he really is, it can be seen on the court but official wording always makes the difference.

Only because he has a small head.

His wingspan is 7'4'' and has a high standing reach. Your height from the neck up is useless in basketball.
He has high shoulders. Some have sloping shoulders where they can lose a few inches

I think the NBA should have just taken bare feet measurements, added 1" to 1.5", and rounded up to the nearest 1/4". We'd have some historical consistency then.
