The fallout is Sparky no longer will host the Bucks postgame show. Instead it will be Bill “Baby Tausch” Schmid.

Maybe this was Sparky’s decision, to slow down air time. But for me this is a huge loss. Meh.

He's got a young kid at home, wonder if that had anything to do with it. Got to imagine the 12 hours of being on air for a decade wore him out a little.

1250 post-game is just a hard listen due to reactionary hot takes from fans. It is like a less educated game thread.

Sparky gone, Nehm gone, Katie gone, more Novak this year. Not a fan of any of these developments. Next thing you know, Gus Johnson will be coming back.

Sorry, had to vent. 8-)

I had thought he was the program director there (could be wrong), so wondering what the Mitch Rosen hiring has to do with any of this.

Don't blame Sparky for stepping back, if it was his choice to do so.

Sparky was the assistant program director there, I believe, and likely still is, but perhaps that has changed. I pretty much have not listened to that station in the last three years. Too many good podcasts to listen to instead.

Speaking of which, sad to see Eric Nehm depart Locked On Bucks. He and Frank had really developed a great rapport and dynamic. I haven't heard why Eric is stepping down from hosting, but I'm guessing it might have something to do with his job at The Athletic.

Kane is a great guy. I think that will work out well.

Mitch Rosen knows what he's doing and is unafraid to make changes quickly when necessary.

That's all I have to add.

Simmons/Russillo/House Eastern conference pod rips into Middleton fairly good.

Two years late. We will have two competing narratives/factions all year:

The insufferably sure that they're always right Bucks Twitter and their enablers in the local media vs. ESPN and other national commercial forces crafting the Giannis leaves narrative for content and clicks. This war will be waged over how Khris Middleton is overpaid and not good enough to help the Bucks get over the top. Bucks fans will be wrong for the right reasons, First Take and the Jump will be right for the wrong reasons.

I’m not sure Simmons and Russillo fall into the “crafting the Giannis exodus narrative” camp, they’re just down on Middleton.

Yeah sorry, I didn't mean to imply that specifically with those two, more just that everyone will soon be doing that math.

Now it all makes sense. The Athletic probably coerced him into it.

Weird, I first found out about Blk Tray because he was Jennings buddy so he would follow Bucks games.

EDIT: also weird cuz Blk Tray used to kinda **** on Giannis and thought he wouldn’t be very good.

Pretty sure Lowe is in that camp though, sadly. Ever since the ECF he's been casually dropping "Giannis will leave if the Bucks don't make the Finals" into every Bucks segment.

I had to google Travonne. Had no clue who he was. Then again I never got into those second tier ESPN/Starters podcast guys. I’ll give it a shot.

This Bucks podcast thing now feels like our sports radio situation. Way too many platforms, and the more talented guys get all split up.

Not sure on the appeal of a podcast with Eric and a non Bucks fan? And behind a paywall?

I remember Travonne being around semi-often when Jennings was a Buck. Kinda amazing to see how he's parlayed that relationship into legit NBA media work.

I don't think he's that good at it but good for him.

This is the downside of the Wild West of digital media platforms. Since very few of these platforms generate real cash, there are no producers, program managers or gatekeepers on quality control. They can’t afford them.

So in Milwaukee we’ve got like 10-12 guys doing sports talk radio, who wouldn’t have gotten on the air twenty years ago.

But on the upside, Frank and Eric wouldn’t have gotten on the air twenty years ago, but they can do it today. Problem is you’ve taken a sum is greater than the parts production and now split it up. Meh.

In an ideal state, SE WI consolidates their sports talk radio to one station.

6am to 9pm, all local stuff.

What's your line-up?
Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.
