Yeah, it is pretty funny. I don't really blame him for not making bad deals for players who didn't want to be there though. Sometimes you just have to do what you can and hope it works out.

Brown has a negative BPM though, so obviously I think he's bad.

Brown is an inconsistent defender with a fraudulent shooting percentage. I don't get the appeal.

That isn't even remotely the same thing. We have two foundational superstar talents already, and overpaying for a third banana is a much different thing than maxing out people before you find your franchise player or players.

Kemba Walker is an allstar, but he isn't a franchise player. The Celtics never got their franchise player before their assets had to be cashed in. They missed their window.

Tatum is that guy. He'll develop into a star either this year or next.

That said, I could see him wanting out while he's inevitably on his max contract because the Celtics haven't given themselves a high enough ceiling.

Maybe Tatum?
That being said, I think Celtics' will have a much easier task moving Brown (if needed) than Sixers will have moving Tobias, given the fact that his contract is longer and more expensive.

So maybe not a very good counter?

He's also astoundingly uncreative with the ball--both for himself and for others (putrid AST%, for example).

Jaylen Brown is more talented than Taureen Prince, but is he unequivocally better than him? And man, the contract disparity between the two is astounding.

Pretty excited for the NO-Tor tonight. Get to see how much both teams intend to play Terence Davis and NAW. Both have intriguing storylines with the absence of their star from last season.

Big moment for Pascal Siakam. He needs to start showing that he is a budding star and not just a plus starter who got overpaid.

I dont know. But i think the right move for the celtics is to let Jaylen go or atleast shop him (and hayward) for some asset. Storm the down years, get some assets then compete at some point.

As good as Tatum is, he’s more Tobias Harris than Kobe Bryant.

At this point they are trending towards limbo.

While if we let Tobi go, we would have also be trending towards limbo. But instead, we have a borderline star as our 3rd or 4th best player to make us the most talented top end team, this is why it’s different.

GSW is still too early to trend towards oblivion. They every tools to build another superteam with their roster, market and branding. The recent noise DLo made about building a superteam IMO will happen at GSW.

They already turned down trading Klay for Twolf PF once before, guessing they will do it again.

More likely trade between those teams is Russell for Covington+(Maybe Teague and a pick). Gives them some actual defense and gets their tax situation under control, without having to trade a cornerstone.

Why would Minnesota want to trade for Klay? He obviously prefers California, is coming off a knee injury, is arguably a lesser talent...

Yeah it doesn’t really make sense for them either.

I think that's a disservice to Tatum. He's an excellent defender so right off the bat he's going to be way better than Tobias.

I still think Klay Thompson is the ultimate comp for Tatum.

For all those who always wondered how Klay would fair as a #1 option, this Celtics team in 3 years will be a glimpse into that theoretical.

If this China thing tanks the revenue like expected, no way Adam Silver keeps his job. You can't survive that big a financial failure on your watch.

NAW needs to add some weight, much like his cousin, but he is going to be a problem in this league.
