2019-20 OKC Thunder Regular Season Thread

Post#1 » by ThunderBolt » Tue Oct 22, 2019 11:26 am

I'm not going to label it "Part 1" because I'm not sure we'll need a part 2 this year. However I need a good outlet to complain about Dennis Schroder.

I'm disappointed there's no theme for the title thread. Shut this down.

I can edit the title. I'm open to ideas...

"Billy Ball Unleashed"?

So based on previous data, about three more months?

let's enjoy the rebuild...

Please stay healthy Gallo & CP3 (Schroeder if u want some rest I'm fine with it).

Hope we will enjoy SGA development.

I'm super satisfied with the way game 1 went. Very watchable, enjoyable basketball that ended in a loss.

The only thing I really don't want this year is Donovan closing with CP3, SGA, & Schroder. CP3 already is going to take the ball out of SGA's hands, Schroder being out there also taking it from him is a terrible idea.

Also I know that Donovan is going to do just that so that's not great.

Perfect tank game last night. Team will be solid as long as Gallo is here. 57.8 ORTG w him off vs/ 116.9 with him on. SGA and CP3 looked good too but SGA really hasn't been passing the ball much since he's been here (SSS I know). I wonder if they've told him to not worry about facilitating when he's on the court w CP3/Dennis.

20 lineups in league (mostly starters) have played 10 plus minutes. Thunder starters were -3 in about 12 minutes or around -12 / per 48 minutes. 75% of the others were better. Of course just one game; but this is where they begin.

I would imagine the jazz end up being one of the better starting lineups in the league. Conley won’t be that bad moving forward.

I’ve always liked him. Injuries are likely how his career will be defined but he’s so well rounded.

Russ is percolating.

It is after the death of Hinder. They died in 2014 when Austin left. Them calling themselves Hinder without him is a disgrace. His voice was the driving force of the band and it is such a unique voice you can't replace it.

SGA was a seriously awesome piece to get in that trade. He's got a lot higher ceiling than I thought watching him last year.

How long before we decide Steven actually is pretty terrible without Russ?

Lowest team assist rate in league, 3rd worst team efg% and ts%, 2nd worst offensive efficiency and SRS so far.

They'll take pride in 7th best defense as a sign of culture working and probably thinking design is "mostly" on track.

3pta rate 27th, 3pt fg% tied for 23rd. 18th on shot frequency at rim. Dead last on hitting them by a pretty large margin and only at a measly 50%.

(But probably need 10-20 games to figure out all possible flukes.)
