Apparently Shanahan did not sound too optimistic about Taylor and Hurd's return. Apparently Taylor had a setback. Might have been part of the reason Sanders was acquired

Some bizarre **** going on with the Josh Gordon. Looks like the Pats are gonna cut him but it's not injury related. In the case that it isn't due to relapse I don't think it would hurt the Niners to take a look at him.

The Pats placed him on IR and it sounds like he will end the season there.

If they put him on IR, he's still on their roster right, it's not waiving him?

On their roster but doesn't count as one of their roster spots. However, they have to wait until he's healthy before they can release him with an injury settlement, which is what they plan to do. He's saying he'll be cleared soon and we'll be at the point in the season (the day after the trading deadline) in which every player who is released must go through waivers. Dolphins have the first chance at him.

Also, the Patriots give up any rights to a compensatory pick, and his new team would gain them as long as he finishes the year on their roster and they choose not to re-sign him. However lucrative his next deal is helps determine what the pick would be.

Some players just take these things personal. It gets emotional and they can't reconcile that there is a salary cap and choices have to be made. They might understand it until it hits them personally. I think Sherman kind of did the same thing in Seattle.
