Cakes, if the info is on your profile, it’s hard to call it doxxing. Da1, you still don’t have to do it. Everyone, try a little harder to not call each other names. Da1, “feed the monkey” is a term of art, though, sure, if someone used it as a reference to Obama, someone might object. It’s a rough and tumble world.

this isn't just another instance of two guys calling each other names.

me: laughed at his assertion that "if all cities are liberal then all states are liberal" it's a substantive argument.
points out the logical fallacy of equating location of crime as that crime being endorsed or advanced by the political party in charge

him: you're a lib, you support transgender bathrooms that would result in pedophilia. you're disgusting. you're a lib, you're probably a beastiophiliac yourself.

me: don't be dumb.

him: what more could i expect out of someone with your name? you probably eat meat. and feet. foot fetishes are beastiality. you engage in beastiality.

like, is this the level of discourse we want on this site? because if this is the freedom of speech yall are trying to protect, yall can have it. i'm out.

and fwiw, EriccShen is not my name. It's a joke name that sounds like Erection. Just like there isn't really a Haywood Jablome, Amanda Hugginkiss, or Ty Neadik.

so like I said, I'm not upset that he doxxed me. I'm upset that he tried to doxx me.

Peace out, be out. Your version of events is comical and not at all biased. You came at me way before today, I never did anything to you. But you want to up your and1 count by attacking me now that SD is banned, I'm not your whipping boy.

Tulsi Gabbard love her some Fox News all of a sudden. Russian asset probably not, but Republican stooge for sure. Good that she won't run for reelection. She won't win. Sheep's clothing is off, and now she's just angling to be the next Fox News bimbo.

Ok, but like remember when Ghost of Chenier or whatever literally did in fact doxx me and absolutely nothing was done about it? In fact you said something like "You can continue doing your research, just tone it down" - literally condoning doxxing!

Pancakes is 100% correct that this type of behavior should not be tolerated. At a minimum his posts should be deleted and he should be temp-banned. Erring on the side of enabling doxxing is a totally mystifying thing to do and I would love a clearer explanation for this type of thinking. It's truly baffling when you consider being wrong in one direction = someone incorrectly temporarily banned from a message board and being wrong in the other direction = someone's privacy is violated.

Incredibly bad value judgment here.

I legitimately don't understand why we can't have a minimum level of active moderating of this thread. If someone is temp-banned for three days for violating the rules, is something really bad going to happen or something? It seems like an extremely low stakes way of enforcing the rules

For example instead of watching SD20 melt down in slow motion for six months or whatever maybe he could have been temp-banned whenever he got out of line so he would behave differently going forward or not participate in the thread?

Classic. Just wonder if they really go through that 3rd stage. It would require actual thought - if only for a moment.

Pardons, but it seems like you might be reaching a bit, no? I've worked with a lot of people from India - just don't see the monkey thing being an issue for any of them.

I'm not offended by it, parts of India are overrun by monkeys, its a part of the population. I'm just calling out the flat out hypocrisy if I used that verbiage on JWiz, he'd be crying to the masses that I'm racist like Trump. Just like how Gillum and the left whined about DeSantis' comment about monkeying this up, nothing to see there either

Ehh, we's a little looser around here than on the general boards. Doxxing (which I did tell GoC to stop), meltdowns, a little name calling, backseat modding, even some light attacks on the mods, we can all deal with it. (I have to admit, I know exactly who STD is, and it is pretty hilarious, though much of it is true.)

I don't have the luxury of using the ignore function, so I know it is possible to read every word without my head exploding. You can do it gtn, I know you can, but really, there is a feature that makes it so you don't have to. (And I have tried to be more careful about quoting such posts, for those that put in the effort to block posts.)

Carry on. Republicans have been attacking the bipartisan behind-closed doors approach (which is the same approach taken in the Watergate hearings) and continue to attack the whistleblower even though virtually all the important details revealed by the whistleblower have been independently verified and even admitted to by the White House. The Republican approach seems to be to attack the accusers and offer counter-accusations of corruption rather than to disprove the facts. Da1, why don't you take the lead in refocusing the discussion, and offer a defense to this approach (and maybe include at least some non-partisan points).

OK, come out swinging. I have to go back to work.
