Wonder what we do in FA now, I was certain we'd be the team offering Jaylen Brown or Sabonis a huge contract and making the Celtics/Pacers match

May I introduce you to NC native Brandon Ingram:

If I was forced to go after a restricted free agent I'd target Jakob Poeltl. I think he will easily outperform the contract he will likely get. But the problem with RFA guys like him are that you can't sign them to reasonable deals if you don't own their rights.

The summer of 2021 is probably going to be the most exciting off-season this organization has had since MJ took over. Only a few teams will have more cap flexibility than the Hornets and the class of rookies in the 2021 draft is one of the best in a long time. It's going to be a long 20 months between then and now, but I think the payoff will be worth it.

The 2020 class is so bad, and it's only gotten worse after a flurry of extensions. I'd just stay out of it (something Mitch alluded to yesterday), and treat this as at least a 2-year rebuild.

We could certainly use more draft capital, ideally we move some vets in exchange for picks and taking on salary.

Otherwise the only signings I'm making in the offseason are 1-year or 1+1 deals with team options.

Its worth it if FO manages to get good prospects and good picks from all current expirings. Next star this team will have will be from the draft. And so far there is no identified star or perennial all star among the young guys (let's say Washington carry a lot of hopes considering M&M are still 'meh')

It would not be dumb to sacrifice a bit of flexibility to land a bad (not toxic like Paul, Wiggins, Love, WB and alike) contract for another high 1st especially for the next couple of years as there are plenty of quality prospects for 2020 and 2021 especially guards something this team needs more than anything else (real center is a need that can be filled with vets or with any undersized big)

Just for french prospects, we have Maledon, Hayes, Ayayi, maybe even Gauzin and N'Doye with some real nba potential (lottery potential for half of them). And aussies also have some new quality prospect (even though the hype is too high as even a guy like Simmons is really overrated). Aside from international (knowing there are also Ballo who could be a nice get here, or Garuba if he keep developing his outside shot who has some Milsap potential, etc), you can add a bunch of ncaa prospects obviously.

Looks like Howard has finally accepted being a role player. If he sticks with that, it's a great pickup for la. He is still great around the ring.

Kaminsky with 19pts and 11 Rebs in OT loss to Nuggets tonight. Jokic had his usual 23-14-12 triple double. :o

for those keeping tabs on Kaminsky...and my fellow hindsight goggle wearers, last night's All-Former Charlotte (albeit some of them only for several minutes on draft day; sans Kemba) Team:

*Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - 10-17, 28 pts
Frank Jackson - 15 mins 4-9, 10 pts, good chance he is a better than Dwayne Bacon
Hamidou Diallo 18 mins, 7 pts 5 rbs, springs in his legs, sold for peanuts
Treveon Graham - 23 mins, 4-8, 12 pts, started, I miss Trev!
Frank Kaminsky - 33 mins, 19 pts, 0-3 from 3, 11-11 free throws
Troy Daniels - 21 mins, 5-9. 15 pts (perfect fit on LeBron's LA team)

*special note on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: imo SGA is one of the overlooked pieces of the Kemba mismanagement debacle. SGA made so much sense as Kemba insurance :( I was so bummed when the Bridges swap was announced. I briefly changed my tune when it was reported that SGA wanted to be in LA, making more sense out of extorting extra picks from LA, (one of which turned into Devonte Graham). But it became quickly apparent that SGA is really good, and now that LA traded SGA away from LA (for Paul George no less) and Kemba left for greener pastures...I am more convinced than ever, SGA is about to be a star; this team would have been set at PG for 10 yrs, we should have kept SGA

Kaminsky with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assist tonight to help the Suns beat the finals’ favorite Clippers. I said that Kaminsky will go to another team and become a quality player. We mismanage players here.

It's really sad to see Steph Curry go out with a broken hand. Baynes fell backwards on top of him. I was hoping to see the Warriors at least make the playoffs and prove the naysayers wrong.

Didn’t play as much because they were beating the Warriors by over 30 points by halftime.
