And frankly I hope watching this team botch screens and throw passes to ghosts makes people appreciate Iggy, Shaun, Bogut et al. This offensive system is hellishly complicated and I hope people realize you can’t just plug anyone in and expect magic. The Warriors chemistry was very specific to all the talent they amassed in that 2013-15 period.

They just had a bunch of really smart players. It's bizarre watching what they've become in the blink of an eye.

Are the Warriors even going to win 35 games? The defense looks like it could be the worst in the league. The offense will probably get somewhat better as time goes on but I don't know what they could do to shore things up defensively.

This Warriors defense is ROUGH.

Saw on Twitter that Dray has never been on a losing team since high school. Wonder how he'll handle this year, if this kind of play continues.

There’s been a lot of “everything special about the Warriors is due to Steph” over the years and this is proof positive it’s more than that. The combined ball handllong, passing, and overall IQ they had was unprecedented.

If the first few games are any indication he will lose his voice permanently by December. Seriously I’ve never seen a player do as much pointing and yelling as Dray these first few games.

It's been clear for a few years than no KD, no party for GSW. Their 2015/2016 teams were built on historic depth on both ends of the floor, they had so many strong defensive players and an incredible playoff defense + at the same time those guys complemented Curry perfectly on offense. Their style and Curry's ability to bomb from anywhere was also relatively new and teams hadn't adapted to it yet.

Now, they lost all their depth in order to acquire KD so they were relying on overwhelming top end talent to win. Remove KD, you're left with Curry as the only real offensive playmaker and while he's a great offensive player he's not really the sort of guy who can absorb a massive load and put the entire team on his back. Russell is the only other good offensive player in the roster and he's a siege defensively so might not even be a net positive all things considered. Defensively they lost all their size and versatility and are now pretty bad. Honestly even with Klay back this is no longer anywhere near a contender.

Doesn't help them that the West is stacked with good teams; all the above being true, Warriors could still make the second round in the East.

A 70 point half is something that happens, like, a few times a year at most. This is ridiculous.

Side note, maybe it’s the uniform change but Chris Paul looks really fat.

Honestly they might struggle to crack 35 wins, especially if Curry or Draymond miss any time. They're not a bad team, but the West is loaded with good teams this year, might be the best conference I've ever seen, even the non-playoff teams in the West have plenty of talent, there won't be any easy outs. Memphis is probably the worst team on paper and they're no pushovers...

Instead of committing max contracts to all of these guys, I wonder if the Warriors should have just blown it up. Klay alone isn't going to save them and they are going to be over the apron with a lottery team.

I wonder what Draymond's trade value is.

NBA in 2019 is too deep. You can't survive with this type of rotation

Boy Rockets sold at the right time on Paul. He looks completely done as a creator. Can’t beat anyone and won’t go inside the paint at all even against this defense. Looks overweight too.

He’ll hit that mid range shot until he dies and he still brings positive value but boy he’s less than half the player he was in his first Rockets year.

I underestimated how steep his decline would be.

Everyone should watch Towns tonight. He is playing at a level I have never seen from a *Gasp* Timberwolves player.

SGA is turning out to be a really good player. He makes great reads and can make that skip pass across the court right on the money. I wonder if OKC won on that PG trade even.

I am right we are the worst defensive team in the history of the game by far...every team will score 125 on us...

I still think GSW will be decent. They’re getting blown out right now but OKC has also been on fire from 3. But first, Kerr really really needs to get out of his own way and just let Steph play On ball. That he has steph playing off Dangelo most of the time has been killing the Warriors because the defense puts two on him and won’t even let him catch it. So you have your best offensive player and on ball creator not even able to get the ball while less than minimum guys bricking mid range twos.

Through the 6 minute mark in the 4th OKC has a 126 offensive rating in this game.

The fans salivating at starting the curry hate train are the worst part of sports fandom.

Meh. I doubt the Warriors felt bad for the rest of the teams/players when they were cruising to the Finals every year. People had to watch Curry/Draymond showboat behind a historically stacked team for years. Curry shoulder shimmying, cocky dancing and 'no-look' threes, Draymond telling Durant they don't need him is ironic af now.

The shoe is finally on the other foot. If you are going to dish it as a frontrunner better believe you're gonna get it back when the tables turn. That's just sports.
