Players that are worth the price of admission...

This post isn't JUST about Derrick Jones Jr. but he's the focus...

In all my time as a UNLV fan (38 years... since I was 10 yrs old)... There have been few players that I felt were worth the price of admission, post-Tarkanian's teams, to see live. Players you'd regret not being there to see that one play.. live & in person, hearing the fans roar, feeling the emotion of the arena, etc...

The first two players were Shawn Marion & Chris Richardson, the latter never played in the NBA, but was the high-flyer on the Globetrotters that tragically passed away on a trip with the team). Those two played on the same team and both were so explosive, it's almost though you had to check the score on the way out to see which team won... & you think Marion's shot was ugly in the NBA...it was brutal at UNLV... So not as many W's as we would've preferred.

DJJ was the other player... The guy made every game one you were glad you were there to see...

I was thinking, hypothetically, what if a player like DJJ will only be what he has been so far, what's the value of that with current-day NBA fans? If he remains what he has been, doesn't really progress nor digress, is that enough to value DJJ as a player you need to retain, one that brings that play or two a game that gets even the old people out of their seats & people talking (worldwide with social media)? If the answer is yes, what is the value?
