I don't think it matters how good Trae Young gets on offense. As long as he remains a terrible defender, teams are going to exploit him in the playoffs. For that reason, I'd take Luka. Luka isn't a great defender or anything, but at least he has the size, girth and strength to not be a liability. You can't scheme to exploit him like teams will do to Young.

I would go the opposite way. IMO defense matters less at the PG position relative to the wing position. Wings have to rotate and switch more. Bad defensive PGs can be hidden on a spot up shooter than can't dribble.

Teams have done a good job hiding their defensively weak guards in the playoffs. You rarely see PGs , mostly slow footed bigs and wing defenders. Look at POR, they have two weak guard defenders and do just fine scheme wise in the postseason.

considering neither one has been in the playoffs, that sort of assesement doesn't seem relevant at this point

Forget the position argument.

With Doncic, you don't need to play a traditional PG at all. Just put in a bigger guy that can switch across multiple positions.

Doncic guy is a legit future MVP he can do everything and has great court vision. Bagley and Fox are great young pieces but I think Dallas is extremely happy building around Luka and Zingis

I think it is Luka with a decent margin, I'm not sold on Bagley and don't think either one has nearly the upside of Doncic

Not sure if you're trolling or serious? Doncic is far from overrated. He's putting up 30/10/7/3. I think it is safe to say he has top 5 to 10 value in the league. I think only Kawhi, Giannis Antetokounmpo and maybe Anthony Davis or KAT are guys I think are ones that I keep over Doncic and I am hesitant on Davis and KAT. I was going to put Curry in that list but realistically I don't see too many deals were Cuban says yeah let's make that deal

It's becoming increasingly clear that Luka was the best prospect in that draft.

Would you take peak Deron Williams/Chris Bosh over somone like Durant?

That's essentially what you are saying.

To continue this line of thinking, it’s like saying would you take a peak John Wall with a brain/jumpshot & peak Bosh with hops over the modern Larry Bird.

I take the modern Larry Bird myself. But those two other pieces are nice regardless.
