Trading an all star for a bunch of cheap so-so players is a fast road to the basement. I would never, ever trade a quality player for "depth".

No one ever said "all star Mo Williams" when talking about Lebron's teammates. I don't know why you'd do it with Russell just cause he's young, young doesn't imply improving.

why are you saying all-star like it means anything?
he was a substitute in a historically weak conference.

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
all star who puts up good numbers on paper but provides zero impact on the court means nothing...if we can move DLO for a starting wing and more depth I am all for it. This season is pretty much a wrap anyway, I dont see us making PS and let Klay heal to 100%.

DLO for Andre Drummond!

1. no way Detroit does Drummond for DLo, their intent would be to pair DLo with Griffin/Drummond
2. i''d do DLo for Reggie Jackson (contract match, expiring) and Sekou/their '20 first

The Knicks need a PG, and have an abundance of bigs they could possibly move.
Dlo for.......... J Randle + Ellington?

Was watching the Hornets game last night and Cody Zeller is a decent big. Coming out of college I thought he would be more of a force, but he's definitely a solid Center

He's good but he's constantly injured, he's played 62/33/49 games on his last 3 years.

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
I was 100% focused on finding a wing (or two) that we could flip Dlo for, but . . . with IND sucking, committing money to two C's, and Oladipo nowhere to be seen
What about Dlo for Turner?
Turner is 23, a shotblocking center that can hit 3's. He's pretty mobile but hasn't been asked to switch alot in their scheme. We are known for going small but with Turner should be able to stay on the floor late due to his shooting and defense.
IND has been starting some kid named Sumner in the backcourt due to Oladipo still being out. It's been a while with no big update either. They could use an offensive floor raiser there
Turner is signed through 2023 at $18M/per, a fantastic value

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
I get why some of you like Steven Adams or Myles Turner. Both are good players. But IMO, a really good wing has much more value in today’s league than a solid center.
There are cheaper ways to fill the center position than giving up D-Lo to do it. I’d like to see how Willie Cauley-Stein looks with this team over the next couple months. He’s not a top level center but the Warriors don’t need a high level center to make this thing work. They would be fine with someone bringing some of the same stuff Javale brought to the team.

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
I'd rather have Sabonis than Turner, who just doesn't seem that tough.
Turner would be a better match salary wise since Sabonis hasn't been paid. But you might be able to get a couple of wings coming back with Sabonis. I mean real NBA wings, not what the Warriors are trying to trot out.
However, I don't think Indy is going to go for some big backcourt scorer unless Oladipo isn't coming back this year for whatever reason.

Re: Trade Thread (TRADE WARS EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes Back)
POSSIBLE D'LO IDEA:
To me Phoenix is a potential trade target because of Booker and Russell wanting to play together. Let's be honest, if KAT, Russell, and Booker all want to play together....what makes more sense, Phoenix? Or Minnesota? Lol, not even a choice.
So how about Russell for Ty Jerome and Oubre? Or Ty Jerome and Bridges? And then possibly someone else added to make the money work.
Maybe Rubio, Baynes, or Tyler Johnson.
Just spit balling. But Ty Jerome would fit perfectly into our scheme. Big guard next to Steph.
Bridges and Oubre are good young small forwards. Bridges plays great defense

Suns will try to dump Josh Jackson, whom they may not even keep as RFA next year.

Towns is far more valuable then Booker or Russell - there's nothing Phoenix could credibly trade for Towns. So if Towns/Booker/Russell are playing together then it would be in Minny.
If Russell did go to Phoenix I feel they'd want to start him at PG and thus send Rubio back. Probably Rubio + Bridges would be a best-case scenario for GS as far as what Phoenix would give up.

I've been thinking about the Dlo,Booker & KAT Pairing as well but think Minny would have to be the destination. Nothing from the Suns I would think is worth trading Dlo for... Ty Jerome? You really like him but hes a rookie and won't help for a title push. Not a fan of Oubre either. Bridges is nice, Rubio, Ayton but there's better options I'm surr

i'd do DLo for Tyler Johnson, Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson...Johnson obviously just for the contract to make the deal work

How do we clear roster spots to do trades like this? Think Warriors have to have more players going out.
Return to Golden State Warriors
