Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
Marvin expiring for Garry Harris (3 years)
Nuggets are deep at guard, get out of a long contract and add a stretch 4 who can back up Millsap and get fed by Jokic
Biz + Cavs 2nd for Derrick Favors (expiring)
Replaces Marvin with a PF who can play center better than Marvin. PJ is the starter at PF.
Rozier - Graham
Harris - Monk
Bridges - Bacon - Batum
PJ - Favors - MKG
Zeller - Favors - Hernangomez
9 man rotation.

If I were GM for the day I would call every team in the league and find a trade for Malik Monk before its too late
One guy from every team in the league to start the conversation:

BOS - Grant Williams
CHI - Daniel Gafford
CLE - Dylan Windler
DAL - Delon Wright
DEN - Malik Beasley
DET - Svi Mykhailiuk
GSW - Eric Paschall
HOU - Danuel House Jr
LAC - Landry Shamet
LAL - Alex Caruso
MEM - Dillon Brooks
MIA - Duncan Robinson
MIL - Sterling Brown
MIN - Keita Bates-Diop
NOP - Josh Hart
NYK - Frank Ntilikina
OKC - Terrance Ferguson
PHI - Matisse Thybulle
PHX - Ty Jerome
POR - Gary Trent Jr
SA - Keldon Johnson
SAC - Harry Giles
TOR - Terence Davis
UTA - Georges Niang
WAS - Mo Wagner

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
Even though i already said on this forum, Josh Hart could be a nice addition to the young core here (plays on both end and still on rookie contract for couple of years), for the knicks i think DSJ could be an option. Hard to guess how he could perform here but even with a limited ceiling his floor is probably much higher than Monk's.
I still wish something could be done with NOP (esp. with Zion's injury) like Marvin/Bacon (+2nd maybe) for Hart/Favors.
Satoransky or kurucs would not bad addition as well (not sure they are happy to play in their current team right now, esp. the czech)

I’d love to have Hart here starting for us, but don’t see NO giving him up for our second shelf stuff.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
I think Bacon has a low ceiling and I don't like him getting so many shots. I'd trade him in a heartbeat. I think he's a bench player on most teams. It's fine he's a starter but he shouldn't be a go-to player.
I want Gary Harris. Nuggets want to keep Beasley but he's heading for restricted free agency. They will need some money for him. They tried to extend him but he turned down the offer. This is a weak class so he might make real money.
Harris ties them up 3 years. He's a career 36% three point shooter. He's not spectacular but I think we'd all take that from Bacon. Harris is a strong perimeter defender.
Hornets trade Marvin + Bacon
Nuggets trade Harris + 1st round pick

I doubt we get the 1st round pick, but I would do it with out it.
I doubt Charlotte would though, I think they are happy with their second round find.

Okay, I would be willing to add the Cavs 2nd rounder for the 2020 draft.
We give them a playoff contributor in Marvin, enable them to retain Beasley with an "aggressive" offer. They give us a starting caliber SG locked up for 3 years with Rozier.
We package Bacon with an early second rounder (Cavs) to move up into the late first round (Nuggets).
Rozier - Graham
Harris - Monk
Miles - Batum
PJ - MKG
Zeller - Biz

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
I'm all about trading Bacon, he disrupts the flow of the offense and is taking shots away from better players. Send him to Portland with Marvin for Kent Bazemore and call up the Spurs and see if they'd do Poeltl for Willy and the Cavs 2nd.
Poeltl can't stretch the floor, but unlike Willy he is a competent defender and most importantly he can pass the ball. If he can eventually stretch the floor he is exactly the type of big we need.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
Bleacher Report floated Bogdanovic for MKG in an article today. How about:
MKG
Hernangomez
for
Bogdanovic
Giles
Apparently the Kings need a low usage defensive forward and aren't going to be able to retain Bogdanovic. This gets rid of our trash, replaces Bacon in the starting lineup, and takes a flyer on Giles while giving the Kings a backup big that's actually healthy.

Kings won't do that. Even if they can't re-sign Bogdanovic, he's still the better player in this deal. On top of that, you're selling low of Giles. We'd have to include an actual asset for this type of move to be made.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
I figured we'd have to add something but I didn't know what. A 1st is certainly too much, even with protections, and I don't know that a 2nd is enough. I have no idea how the Kings feel about Giles at this point. As far as the Bogdanovic stuff I was just taking the logic from the Bleacher Report article, he's certainly better than MKG but who knows.
Someone suggested MKG and Monk but I think Monk is still more much valuable than Giles at this point, especially with our roster make-up. Giles may never be healthy, he's a big question mark, but I think we are in a good position to take a flyer on someone like him.

I'd do it, although playing Biz, bat's and MKG together would make me ill.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
A lot of reclamation bigs will be available next summer: Okafor, Giles, Noel, Zizic, Vonleh, Bender, Rabb, Swanigan, and Cauley-Stein will all be unrestricted free agents. That's why I think it would be foolish to give up value to trade for any of them. As one of the few teams with cap space we will have options next summer when it comes to signing a big man. And that's not even listing all the veteran big men like Harrell, Favors, Len, Ibaka, Whiteside, Thompson, Gasol, and the good Plumlee.
Really, the amount of bigs that are top ten picks who have been cast adrift so early in their careers should give GMs pause. Unless they're unicorns like Towns, Davis, Porzingis, or Embiid it's not a good idea to spend a top pick on a big.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 2
Yeah I wouldn't want to spend future assets on an average back up big, was more thinking about swapping for something we don't want.
