I noticed kawhi is getting a lot of haters now, I guess due to being the favorites and also the LA exposure. I really don't understand how anyone can really hate the dude when he really doesn't even talk to the media.

Just shows success breeds envy.

hey all, Raps fan here.

I read Kawhi was trying to get a patent on "what it do babbbyyyy" and I was hoping to see if you guys were talking about it (I was curious to see if patenting a phrase is even possible) but anyways, why I posted:

I saw this thread and was reading what you guys are saying and allllll I will say is....just wait. Just wait guys, it only gets better with him. I wanted to share that because you guys are about to go through what we went through with Kawhi but you guys have the added benefit of not wondering what happened to him last year (as a Spur). Reading all your guys' comments, it reminds me of our board at the start of last year so I thought Id share a bit on what is to come.

You think he is playing good defence right now? just wait. You think he is scoring with ease right now? just wait.

While with us, he literally called the regular season "practice". He referred to an 82 game schedule as practice. Like wtf? It was one of the most badass things I have heard an athlete and Kawhi absolutely backs it up with his play, to the extreme. Im excited for you guys as a fan base.

Anyways, thats my piece. Raps in 6 lol.

Yo! Congrats and much respect man, you know last year before Kawhi played one game with the Raptors I told all my friends he was going to beat the warriors in the finals in 5 games and win Toronto its first title. Thanks for the inside info on Kawhi, that is pretty refreshing to hear from someone who witnessed this enigmatic baller's game last year. It's pretty apparent to me he's not going all out, but I'm also a basketball agent and I do see the game very differently now.

Now to answer your other question about the copyright, I'm also an attorney. When Lebron filed his Taco Tuesday bs, I knew it'd get rejected, reason being is Taco Tuesday is an extremely common expression that Lebron did not come up with. To be copyrightable, it must be the original creation of the author. Can't blame Lebron for trying, but not gonna lie... didn't appreciate Lebron trying to monetize and own a common expression that came way before him, especially since if anything it should probably be copyrighted by a Hispanic person/entity. I thought Taco Tuesday was all in fun until Lebron literally tried that stunt. Had it been granted, would've caused a lot of negative implications.

Kawhi's "What it do Babeeeeeeeeeeeee" is very different in that I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone here when I say this, but nobody ever heard that expression before he said it. It's a unique enough expression to where he can make the argument "I said this and make this phrase popular, before anyone else did. The expression is also so unique that it has become synonymous with me, Kawhi, and people just don't use it unless they use it after hearing it from me."

I stated Lebron's copyright would most likely get denied. I'm gonna go out and say it's likely Kawhi's phrase will be copyrighted, especially since he does limit the purpose of the phrase to merchandise. Hope that answered your question.

https://clutchpoints.com/clippers-news-doc-rivers-explains-why-he-took-kawhi-leonard-out-in-the-4th-quarter-vs-suns/

The Los Angeles Clippers lost their first game of the 2019-20 season on Saturday on the road against the Phoenix Suns, who were missing their former number-one overall draft pick center Deandre Ayton due to a suspension. In the high-scoring affair, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers pulled All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard, the mega free agent who signed with the club in the offseason, in the fourth quarter.

Leonard finished the game scoring 27 points in just 32 minutes, but that was not nearly enough in the eight-point loss for L.A.

Rivers explained his decision to rest Leonard, according to Jovan Buha of The Athletic:

“We tried to keep him in that 30-minute range, 35,” Rivers said. “We could go to 35 if we wanted to. Honestly, I didn’t think we were going to win the game. We could’ve kept him in. 35 is a lot of minutes. We can play him that if we want. I just chose not to. I wasn’t going to keep him out there when we weren’t playing right as a whole, as a group. So why keep him out there?”

The more I see #2 out there the more I am thrilled with his being a Clipper.

Other than shove Doc out of the way and diagram plays, what has he NOT excelled at so far in the first four games?

Maybe during a time out, whip up a cancer cure?

He's also at a crazy 37.2% in usage, which is a huge 6% up from his highest year in his career. He's just doing a lot offensively, hopefully when George comes back his load is diminished cause he's doing way too much on offense right now.

No doubt I think Paul George will come in and take a huge burden off. Kawhi will just have to spot you

i mean you can tell just how much kawhi is carrying the team on his own. it's both amazing but also uneasy, because you know that if he has even one off night it'll be pretty tough to win.

having paul george back will change so, so, so much.

Been a closet Clippers fan for years (grew up watching Jordan from a diehard Bulls family we celebrated his being drafted) and I am so excited as Kawhi is my favorite player to watch. I latched onto the Clips because I wanted Odom so bad when the Bulls drafted Brand. Kawhi may need load management, me just thinks he knows his body well and knows what a playoff run does to you. I also love Paul George so I am super happy for this team and have been keeping an eye on them. Lob City was a lot of fun but you are going to see a real championship caliber team all year.

Sitting out tonight.

Wack.
I think Utah can be pretty good and playing them on the road would be a good test for us early.

But I guess Kawhi doesn't want to miss the chance to play the Spurs.

Nonetheless, it's still wack to me because IDC about his Spurs vendetta but.....I plan to move on from this immediately after I click submit.

yeah, that sucks. I'm kinda ticked off, but I understand the reasoning about behind it. But I'm ticked that they tried to play the media about there's no load management this season and then have it. I wasn't naive to believe it, but it still rubs me the wrong way. Should have just been honest about it from the get go.

I don't see this guy playing in a single back to back for probably the rest of his career.

I'm kinda shocked how he's allowed to miss tonights game which is nationally televised . David stern fined the spurs for missing key games. Why the spurs? are the spurs a better test than the jazz? is that what they are thinking?

This is why Kawhi Leonard demanded that they get Paul George. If Paul George comes back and the team is at full strength I don't think he will sit back to backs. This is just a guess

he's definitely sitting back to backs unless they blow teams out and even then, I think he would still sit.

Probably because it's a home game.
