Would be awesome, dont know how realistic that is though, David Cone could be a realistic hire though. It better be an elite pitching coach. Also need a complete overhaul in the medical and training staff, yes some injuries are unavoidable but having the Stanton injuries, the Sanchez injuries, then the whole time table of the Hicks injury of having him out for the season then hes totally fine to return for ALCS now needs TJ surgery, also mismanaged CC's work load, and the handling of the Voit injury.

 How are you going to force him to do anything. If he wants to play on the West Coast like Shohei Ohtani did, it's out of their hands.

Don't care do it, at least make a competitive offer, if your gonna penny pinch and offer him 100 mill less just say your not interested instead of stringing along everyone for the ride, at least get him off the Astros.

Great news.

Also, the last remnant of the Girardi staff out. Watch him go to Philly.

Even if the Yankees can offer him more money, it’s up to him decide where he wants to end his career at.

Well of course and I can deal with that if we put up a competitive offer.

Yankees had a 2.97 era in the playoffs, that's good enough to win the world series. He wasn't the reason they lost. Leaving so many runners on base and chapman throwing a meatball instead if walking altuve was just low iq.

I'm fine with letting him go though.

Situational hitting was also terrible. Astros were also pretty bad with RISP. But they just happened to get the big hits when it mattered the most.

I have this theory that when your players feel they have an edge heading into a game it gives them that extra bit of confidence and makes them less tense (resulting in better performance in the clutch). And if you look at the Astro's series, I would always be more comfortable as a player if my team trots out stud pitchers 2 out of every 3 games. That's why you don't see the Astro's panicking after falling behind early at home. They know that if a guy like Verlander or Cole or even Greinke flubs one game they aren't likely going to flub the next game. Makes me a lot less pressured. The value of having a Verlander and a Cole on your team goes beyond just the games they pitch in...especially in the playoffs. That's something that folks that think that a pitcher isn't worth a big investment because they only play 1 out of every 5 games is missing. Yogi Berra once said that "baseball is 90 percent mental, and the other half is physical". That was a Yogiism sure but he's not wrong. When you get to the playoffs and it's just the big boys left, it really is 90 percent mental. And if you want to win you need to have the mental advantage. If I had freaking Verlander and Cole on my team my mental state would be a whole heck of a lot better and more confident.

Yeah, that's true. Also, we put too much pressure on our bull pen. It's nice to have aces that can eat innings. Look what Verlander did in game 5. After he gave up 4 runs, he went another 6 plus innings. He gave that bull pen a rest, which is why they were pretty good against us.

Lets go Nats, still gotta get 9 more outs. Question is who finishes this game for them their pen is trash.

I don't think I've ever been happier to see another team win a World Series.

F*ck the Astros. I hope their little 3-year run is over.
