I wonder how much money EA has lit on fire trying to get that to work.

Run up against an issue with Outer Worlds. I usually play games on normal or easy, unless the challenge is the point. Games like Outer Worlds I like to just chill and explore and experience the story. The problem is the story in Outer Worlds seems to suck. There's just nothing good about it. I'd bump the difficulty to make it more interesting, but the combat is worse than what I'd get with just about any other AAA game.

Still gonna keep playing. Maybe it gets better. But seeing that speed runners are beating it in 20 minutes doesn't spark optimism.

That's disappointing. There weren't many titles I was excited for, but Death Stranding was one of them and I'm bummed that it looks so mediocre.

I guess I'll just have to wait for Cyberpunk or dive into Outer Worlds.

When does Red Dead 2 come to the PC? That would be fun.

Yeah, the license alone is a fortune. I’m sure EA isn’t paying as much, but 2K is potentially paying the NBA a billion dollars over the next seven years.

Maybe it was me, but Death Stranding looked terrible to me. I feel like there was two camps, love it or hate it.

I have thought Death Stranding looked and sounded stupid since I first saw it. But I took the 'you do you' approach and stayed out of it.

It wasn't just you. Kojima games have been pretty terrible since like Snake Eater.

Good trailer. Will be keen to get more info, obviously. I am hoping that one of either D4 or PoE4.0 is able to strike a balance between the two current games and offer a near best-of-both-worlds kind of scenario. The end game, and the pursuit of end game, in D3 needs serious work IMO. I also do not like one character build being able to be literally any build from that class. OTOH, PoE offers greatly increased complexity and variability (sometimes too much), but not as many builds are as end-game viable or part of the du jour of the new functionality from the latest season. On that note, there are too many seasons. There's also something about it that makes it literally unhealthily addictive, which is not a good thing.

I love these games, just hoping the next evolution of either one (or both) offers an experience where it's clear the developers have paid attention to the successes from the others' game.

ETA: Oh, and there better be more than 3 friggin classes.

They announced there are 5 classes.

Looking forward to more Diablo. I could probably stand to play D3 another time too. I don't think I ever got around to the Necromancer.

Like what they're doing with Overwatch 2. That's such a strong teambased shooter that a pve component is a super natural fit, even the limited event ones they've been doing are fun with a group. Cool that you don't need to purchase it if you don't care about the new pve content, progression system, etc, and still get all the new maps and heroes in the base OW game.

I don't like PVP games, but Overwatch is something I'd check out if PVE content becomes a standard thing. I like what I've otherwise heard.

Resistance 2 was one of my favorite games from last gen because the PVE was so incredibly strong. That game was a blast.

I haven't watched the deep dive yet, but from what I've gathered from the announcement is that OW2 is essentially going to be a sort of expansion to the original that adds a coop story mode with a progression system for the heroes (talent trees, etc). And "hero missions" which Jeff Kaplan said work kind of similar to adventure mode in Diablo 3. The pvp aspect will be shared between the two games.

I love competitive games, but my brother is more of a PVE guy so this is definitely something I'll probably play a lot with him.

I think the thing I like the most about the Outer Worlds are the companions. It's early and I only have three but they're all super great and I'm enjoying their side missions more than the main campaign.

Loving this part of the game too. It feels like they ripped off Firefly, which I mean as a compliment. :)

They lean into it. There are some FF easter eggs apparently later in the game.

Totally! When Pavarti was talking with the engineer I was helping her through it. I felt like Mal Reynolds trying to get Kaylee laid.

This is basically any Hideo Kojima game in a nutshell.
