I would say that we need here a solid win to show the world that we finally are several steps ahead from rebuilding teams. If the team keeps playing in the mature way they've been doing everything should be fine.

I say we will have trouble in the first half, but ending up with a nice W.

I want to see the intensity we brought to San Francisco in the first quarter, and not the complacency we saw the rest of the night.

Would love to see Mikal be aggressive, and for Jevon to have a great game against his former team (the way he had a great game against Conley). If those two can be productive offensively, hopefully we can give our starters a good rest.

Make shots and win. Miss shots and get into a rock fight and it will be a long night that could go either way.

Play defense and abuse Memphis poor perimeter defense to create open shots. Need another convincing win.

Easy trap game. This would be a huge win for us to be two games above .500 and win on the road again. As long as we stay within the system that has been working for us we should get the dub.

Suns are favored by 2 points... Suns are 5-0 against the spread.

Does Memphis have poor perimeter defense?

The phrase "trap game" should not be in the Phoenix Suns vocabulary.

Is it the first game they are favored? I guess it probably is.

Book/Rubio should be able to break apart Ja + Dillon.

Right? While it was annoying to watch them give up some of that lead to GS I was sitting there thinking it was kind of a good thing just to drive home that you have to take every game seriously for 48 minutes.

Random comment but I like Cam Johnson. Really like how he moves without the ball and just dig the general vibe to his game. He looks like he belongs out there. I have no idea of his upside but even this quickly into his career I'm pretty confident he won't suck. Which considering suns draft results is no small accomplishment. Lol

Ja is not to be underestimated as a defender. He did a really good job on Kyrie last week, including blocking his game-winning attempt in regulation.

I also saw Jonas try his hand at shooting threes in that game too.

MUST bring it.

We definitely need to bring it.

That Ja block was awesome, but Kyrie did score 37 that game. Maybe Ja has improved on defense but as a draft prospect he was projected as a very negative defender.

Ja has always been good at making some disruptive plays on D, but he's like damn near any rookie where overall he's a negative. A wiley vet like Rubio should have some opportunities to rook him a bit.

Well, too many people think about these one on one matchups, and Rubio's not a whole lot to stop on offense for Ja, and Dillon isn't bad. But they have a lot of solid team defenders that can switch, from Jaren Jackson Jr to Kyle Anderson to Brandon Clarke to Jae Crowder. Grayson Allen is a pretty scrappy defender too.

And Tyus Jones, their backup PG, was 2nd among PGs in DRPM a couple years ago...he dropped a bit last year but he's still solid.

I don't think you should expect these guys to be that weak defensively.

Their offense might stink, but their defense might be pretty good despite the points they've given up. They have some talent. We will need to move the ball and hit our shots.

I agree...he was a safe pick. He provides something needed, has experience, and is a smart player. I think a significant part of the gripe among fans with the pick wasn't so much him (even though he seemed like a reach) but that we desperately needed a PG and PF after not having had a starting caliber one for a couple years while having a glut of wings...even after having TJ Warren. So, a guy like PJ Washington who was safe, or Clarke, who had risks but looked strong defensively and efficient, or even White/Culver fit more of a need.

I had thought I'd get to see Jackson play against the Suns but I read he got sent to their G league team. I haven't followed his career much since the trade.
