I know it's been two years but I swear some are forgetting (or just plain ignoring) our guards defensive woes before Bledsoe showed up. Brogdon was and still is a problem against opposing PG's.

I expect something douchey but insightful from the good doctor.
The kind that is good. Really, if anyone things Brogdon contributed more last season than Bledsoe did, ere's no point in arguing.
Or how about the kind that our coach wanted?

If Brogdon's play and health keep up anything resembling this pace there will be a ton of national media attention going over the nuances of this decision.
That's especially if the Bucks seem a bit worse than last year.
Banking on Giannis' good graces the season before he decides whether to commit to Milwaukee longer term while the team avoided the luxury tax could end up one of the most consequential decisions the team has made in the modern era.
Even if we would have paid stupid money to bring everyone back...we could have made a trade some time before diving deep into the repeater tax...after Giannis was locked up.

If the Bucks hadn't already extended Bledsoe I just can't see any scenario where we would have kept him over Brogdon after that playoff collapse.
It's understandable that the Bucks took the bird in hand since Bledsoe was the only one of our 4 top free agents we could lock up during the season.
But the Bucks also knowingly took the risk going into the deadline with so many unrestricted free agents.
Also...if we really wanted a mulligan on Bledsoe...we could have just brought everyone back and dealt the weak link some time after Sept. 18.
The franchise just chose to take the simpler path hoping we could replace Brogdon with a combination of cheap vets / young guys / someone to be acquired in the future.
It certainly still could work out too! If Brogdon gets hurt (like he was for much of the playoffs) we might be singing Horst's praises.
The early returns don't look good is all.

I think it's safe to say Horst/ownership ****'d up royally extending Bledsoe before the playoffs even on the reasonable deal(what would he have gotten paid if he had waited until after?) I don't think anybody would have chosen to keep Bledsoe over Brogdon after what we saw in the playoffs. I'd rather have Brogdon + George Hill instead of Bledsoe + George Hill. Maybe we get Brogdon + even more discounted Bledsoe?

Seems increasingly likely we misread how good Brogs is. But it could just be a hot start to season. Will be interesting to see if he keeps it up.

The volume numbers will be there with Dipo out, his efficiency will take a hit, and the Pacers will be bad. The assist numbers are surprising, as is his figuring out to get to the line, (I often said last year he'd be a monster if he could manage to draw contact instead of largely going extra lengths to avoid it). We'll see if both continue.

2016 Draft for the Bucks could have been Sabonis in round one and Brogdon in round two. But that was John Hammond’s flaw. For every Brogdon, he’d botch it with a Thon.
Brogdon 22/11/5 on the season. And not slowing down.

Giannis and Bud would never let Brogdon shine like that. Especially the "11".

No doubt. He’s benefiting from being a competent player on a team devoid of options. But props to him for earning his contract.

This is correct.
It's common for us to under rate our own players and overrate others. Some dissonance that we've done it with the same player in like a 6 month period.

I'd still rather have the pick.

It just opened up minutes to younger, cheaper guys I think can fill what his role would have been here, and probably get a pick in the late to add another young and cheap asset.

Guys, he's putting up nice numbers without much of a supporting cast. Remember the numbers Michael-Carter Williams put up in his rookie year?
