Guess Doc found his new Avery Bradley in MacGruder. I don't like how he leap frogged Mann and JRob in the rotation. Especially Mann who needs to get some minutes imo. Hell of a game from Kawhi. I definitely get the load management-- you definitely want this guy healthy and fresh come playoff time. Shamet is offically a head scratcher now.

you don't like how a guy who was a legit rotation player in miami leapfrogged a rookie and a virtual rookie who've yet to prove anything?

our defense won the game

Not upset at all it was a solid win we were able to stay hot long enough to keep them at bay. We need to get teams to lower than 45% in due time

Exactly. We held the Spurs to 45% on the nose and the bigs in waves--incl Trezz--blanketed Aldridge @ 2-8 shooting for 5 lousy points and 5 rebs in 36 minutes, and you could say that was the key stat of the night.

Everybody's going to get their shot. It's a long season. If one of Harkless, J-Myke and PatPat breaks out, he'll get the minutes. But right now, they're all fairly even. Green got 22 minutes, Harkless 20 and Patterson 19. And Harkless had 5 fouls. It all sounds kosher to me.

As for Zu, I dunno. 13 of his minutes came while Lyles [minus-4] was in the game and Zu finished at +5, meaning he was more or less even in his other 4 minutes. Since Trezz was the only offense tonight besides Kawhi, it's hard to say Zu should have got his or anybody else's minutes.

Dude... 4 minutes is way too small of a sample size to judge anything...

you fixed nothing.

in an ideal world, while more developmental minutes to robinson and mann would be nice, the stakes are too high to give losing minutes away to young guys. are they currently each getting 10-15 mpg to do that? no, and they're not going to. but mann's gotten a bit of time and robinson even more. the team has seen robinson for an entire year already and mann for all of the offseason as well. and if they're not playing like impact prospects, that's not gonna do it for anyone on this team.

i've liked some of the things i've seen from mann because he looks comfortable and he looks like he belongs. then he makes rookie mistakes and reminds us he's just that, a rookie. robinson looks like i'd rather see way, way less of him than more. they're being given as much time as they can be, given the stakes of this season, and they will continue to get sparse minutes until they show they deserve more, otherwise.

There is nothing wrong with trying young guys in the hope of getting something when the veterans are not performing. We were already overplaying a young guy in Shamet anyway and Robinson never got a real look in development because we were playing Mr. Unstatable

Dude--It's a pattern, repeated all over the NBA. Explaining why Zubac doesn't get minutes when the other side goes small. I'm sure Doc will try to tease more minutes out of him, but these big battleships are just too slow and unmaneuverable in the 21st century NBA.

Hubie's an executive superstar who works when and where he wants a few times a week, and at 86, would surely not be interested in the grind of an 82-game schedule.

Me, I frankly find Hubie annoying at this point, like people got with Tim McCarver. Too many pedantic nuts and bolts and not enough of the spirit of the thing.

Jerome Robinson is not an NBA-caliber player.

Just not feeling our new court design. Thisnall black thing just doesn't scream Clippers. I already hated that they replaced red with blue as the main color but forcing the black just sucks. Last night looked like a Spurs home game.

Mrs. TVD, whose favorite team in any sport is the Clippers, says the black in the unis and on the court looks badass. Survey of 1, but she's screaming Clippers, and I'm way good with that.

I mean, oh please. Let's kick this shttt to the curb already.

Hubie is a dinosaur, I can't believe he's still working. That said, I really enjoy listening to him, especially when he says "now here you have a guy, who.....". Lol, I don't know why, but j just love that.

he's just so enjoyable to listen to. genuinely loves basketball and is so quick to point out when someone makes a good play.

And "he's one of the best young [fill in the blank]-ers in our league," LOL

I don't want to rain on anybody's parade for enjoying him but Hubie telling me what I just saw after every single play just gets old for me, that's all. Like McCarver, it just gets too wonky for me. I like to be more in the moment and less at the chalkboard.

Fixed that for you.

Another way of writing it, is that he was a starter for two seasons and he had the 5th and the 7th more minutes in a team that had the 5th and the 6th best defenses in the league. Doesn't sound all that fringe to me.

Would be great if the young kids were worthy of a stable position in the rotation, and maybe one of them ends up breaking in, but they're on the bench for a reason. If they start playing them a lot, and then we start losing a lot of winnable games, I bet the guys that demand more minutes for them would start complaining about the rotations again. We just gotta be patient with them, and manage our expectations.
