On the list of annoying driving habits, is there anything more annoying than someone who doesn't turn right on red (when there's no sign saying you can't?)

Camping in the passing lane, trying to pass someone on a two lane highway and they speedup to try to get you killed in the other lane, crowding the box so cars with the opposite light can't get through, people who inch through stopped heavy traffic from a parking lot and blindly enter the opposite lane of the street.

Someone who passes you and then drives slower than you.

Y'all need try driving in the south. I don't even know where to begin with my list.

I haven't driven in MKE enough to know, but in my limited time in Boston I was absolutely scared for my life driving on those roads. My brother played pro football out there for a season and that was the first thing he mentioned when he came back, outside of everyone also being a complete assho*e.

I haven't driven in Milwaukee on a regular basis for a few years now. But I submit that nothing is worse than a Madison driver.

YES!

This happens two to three times on any respectable trip across Capital. The cars always have highly dented quarter panels, no license plate, and impossibly tinted windows.

After living off campus and driving in and out of downtown madison everyday, i'd lean being behind someone who drives too slow and doesn't hit the lights correctly going down gorham and johnson being the most annoying.

Also found that i noticed 80% of terrible drivers have a political sticker on their bumper, didn't matter who they supported.

As a person who lives in the toxic **** of America that is Boston, this is an understatement of how bad they are at driving. Even the road side assistance people can't drive. I had one make a left hand turn right in front of me at point blank range... where he couldn't turn left... Suffice to say, I t-boned him. I was rear-ended multiple times in a year. I watched cars randomly drive off a road, onto a sidewalk, and smash into a parking meter. I saw, on 3 different occasions, someone change lanes, and run into a motorcyclist. Saw that twice with other cars. Every single day, I see someone drive the wrong way on a one way. I have seen people so impatient, that they drive up onto the curb, filled with people, to go around a car waiting for a light to change green. My co-worker leaves 30 minutes earlier than needed, because at least once a week he gets caught in traffic due to an accident. And mind you, I work 3rd shift. I have seen, twice, somebody end up completely in oncoming traffic lane. Thankfully, no accident happened, but damn. I have seen someone drive up onto the middle barriers.
They can't **** drive, they can't ride bikes either. The sports fans here are trash as well. Three times, when I drove for uber, I picked up someone from the garden. Each time, a fight broke out. Once, it was some Bruins fans, who attacked a family from Canada, who watched a bruins game against Montreal. A family. Husband, wife, and 2 kids. 11 and 8. Four drunk as **** guys. It went poorly for them, cuz I carried an aluminum baseball bat. Although, I always had good rides from Red Sox fans.
God damn, Boston sucks

as far as personal experience goes, I 've been in an unlicensed taxi-van in Kiev, this was quite the experience, even by greek standards

Check out the view at Kerry Park in Queen Anne, maybe Volunteer Park in Capitol Hill. The arboretum up in Madison Park is amazing to take a stroll through, and all free save for the Japanese gardens. Ballard Locks tend to draw a lot of people and is pretty cool (you can hit the Fremont troll in the neighborhood next door as well). If you and your wife want to do Pike Place Market, go in the morning on a weekday, otherwise it's packed and suffocating. Are there any specific areas or activities you would like to engage with?

We definitely want to do Pike Place Market, so big thanks for the recommendation. We'll be there Friday-Tuesday so Monday will work well.

I also can't seem to type, I meant to say a day-hike one of the days. Something like a 1-2 hour hike around 2-4 miles. Not opposed to driving an hour to get there either.

Otherwise, any good restaurants or hidden gems? Or cool bars? We don't party like crazy but a night out for dinner and drinks could be fun. Thanks for all the input. Much appreciated.

For sure, man. In that case:
-definitely keep Kerry Park, and do the arboretum for an amazing stroll during the day, you won't regret it. Some great restaurants are on Madison in the area just before here as well.
-day hikes, there are tons of great options. Most of them are across Lake Washington, but the 30-60 minute drive is well worth it. Check out Snoqualmie Pass, Rattlesnake Ledge, or Mount Si. Driving to Rainier is spectacular too, I think it's around 2 hours away.
-Best place for dinner in Seattle, for my money, is Spinasse in Capitol Hill. You will find a ton of great places in the Pike-Pine corridor there, and there's lots downtown as well.
-Pike-Pine corridor is where it's at for cool bars, used to meet up with a friend there to watch the NBA together. I've ducked into the 5 Points Tavern near the Space Needle too, since that's near to where you're staying.
-Also just an aside, if you can help it, when you explore downtown you're much better off taking the monorail from the Seattle Center (where Space Needle is) into downtown (it stops on 4th, not far from Pike Place) instead of driving. With the Amazon-fueled construction continuing unabated, parking is a nightmare. You'll be fine driving almost anywhere else, e.g. Capitol Hill, but save yourself the trouble downtown. One of my offices that I go to is a block away from the Pike market, and I wouldn't dream of attempting to park down there.

Gotta give huge thanks for the recommendations. The first day we did brunch at Oddfellows, walked up and down Pike/Pine corridor and then did the Space Needle to say we did. Yesterday we did Rattlesnake Ledge (the wife powered through it even though it was hard for her, super proud of her!). Stopped at Taco Chukis for a late lunch, went to Rachel’s Ginger Beer and hopped from bar to bar until our reservation at Spinasse. Holy crap, Spinasse was incredible. Best Italian I’ve ever had. Today we’re doing Pike Place Market as it should be slower! Thanks again man! We’ve been having an awesome time!

I've never understood when people say "people in (x location) can't drive". I don't believe that any area of the country has worse drivers as a whole than any other part of the country. How do you know these people in said location are even from there? If I'm in Florida and complaining about Florida drivers, how do I know those people are actually from Florida?

I've driven in most states. Wisconsin drivers are awful.

What I would do is look for some sort of identifying tag on either the front or rear bumper of the offending vehicle.

Yup. We have to lead the country in drivers who camp out in the left lane no matter their speed. Its really, really simple. If you're in the left lane and the vehicle behind you wants to go faster than your current speed, get the f*ck out of the left lane. That goes for everyone. I'd say I'm a pretty fast driver. If I'm going 90 in a 70 and the car behind me wants to go 92, I get out of the left lane so they can comfortably pass me.

You really take note of how bad Wisconsin drivers are when you cross the border to Illinois and its an even 50/50 Wisco/Illinois license plate split. Almost without exception, the vehicles with Wisco plates are the ones ruining it for everyone, camping out in the left lane going 65 while the other lanes are at 80-100. Its infuriating. And dangerous.
