Into the second inning with no game thread..... :nonono:

Mussina sucked it up the first inning, lets see if he can get his act together...

Please work Verlander, fellas. Our offense must get him out of this game by tiring him out because his stuff is pretty filthy tonight.

Good leadoff hit by Melky.

Ok, please yank Mussina now please. I don't know who to bring in but they better go 4 or 5 innings.

I agree TKF, mike is declining right in front of our eyes. We can't start him again. He's killing us. He's done a lot for this franchise but this is no time for loyalty.

Sucks that they are adamant about not using Chamberlain as a starter this year. Might as well bring up Kennedy if they think he'll be ready next year.

5-0 why let mussina pitch us into a hole vs verlander. 5-0 is a done deal here. shyt why not keep mussina in there and let him take an ass pounding and save the pen for tomorrow.. a lot of bullshyt hits by the tigers but mussina has been garbage..

6-0

Yea, I guess it's better to just leave him in there and not waste the pen. Let him get bobmed for 12 er in 6 or 7 innings.

there is not time for loyalty. I said this a while ago in my thread, I love mussina but he is toast. Use him for spot starts, and long relief, even some short relief, let him come in an inning or two, throw everything he has, maybe he can throw with some velocity for an inning or two. But right now he and abreu has us down 6-0... this game is over...

OK, so this game is over, we will be 8 games out, and seattle is playing the angels, the AL east race is over, time to think wild card, indians and tigers play each other soon I think, so if we can stay ahead of them, all we have to worry about is the mariners.. this game IMO was too important to march mussina's tired ass out there..

The problem is that a good Mussina is better than any of our other options..

Ian Kennedy needs to be brought up and see if he can be the spark for the rotation that Joba has been for the bullpen. Honestly, whenever our prospects have come up they haven't disappointed. Hughes has has some bad luck but overall has been very impressive. Wang, Cano, Melky, Joba, Edwar, Phillips all are homegrown players that have been huge contributors this year. I say toss Kennedy out there and see if he can give us a quality start in Mussina's rotation spot later this week.

yea, but a bad mussina is worse than any other options... and right now mussing is awful.... You gotta let desalvo or clippard get a shot, see if you can get at least 4 innings, both guys have some velocity, right now, mussina can't fool a soul, he is pitching batting practice...

But I can see why the Yankees gave Moose the start today... he ran off a few good starts before the Tigers & Angels games. And he's got a track record. But It backfired.

I don't think Clippard or Desalvo is any better than Mussina... Igawa might be though.
