Just watched the Anderson fight now. Yeah, the post-fight as they were waiting for Buffer (broadcast was in commercials but UFC feed stayed on them) was really classless. His corner, even, bears responsibility. Walker is quietly on one side of the ref as Walker clowns on him, doing Walker's post-fight dance at the camera, and acting like a douche. Walker just respectfully grimaces a smile. It went on for maybe 90 seconds. Super uncool.

And not contrived for effect. I mean, the broadcast was in commercial. He was just being a dick. Adrenaline and your career and all the anxiety and being served up as a sacrificial lamb to this next gen star, that's super emotional. I can't even imagine. But the TKO was like 5 minutes earlier. You don't see many fighters unable to control themselves like that.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

I doubt he knew they were in commercial. Like I said yesterday, I find it really hard to believe Corey Anderson went from a super quiet dude to this over the top arrogant ass hole just with a snap of the fingers. I honestly believe he decided to go the Colby Covington route and trying to be the heel. He knows Dana doesn't want him in a title fight, he knows most UFC fans dont care when his next fight is. He saw what Colby did (was in the same boat prior to the Maia fight) and now people talk about Colby all the time (positive or negative, they're still talking about him).

Its not like Walker crossed the line trash talking before the fight or anything like that, I cant think of any bad blood between the two at all. But from yelling in Walker's face after the fight was stopped, literally throwing the ref aside to continue to yell more, mocking Walker post fight, arrogant dancing leaving the cage (nothing wrong with this, just has never been Anderson). I think its clear he's trying to switch things up and try and be the Colby of 205.

Who's risen more in a year than him?

Dude was inactive for 2018 then ended the year with The Rock handing him a belt and Roberto Duran walking him out. Dude, that's kind of wild.

Garbrandt went from unranked to champion in one year. Guys back in the Pride years had crazy years. 04 Cro Crop had 7 wins and 6 finishes in 1 year. Jon Jones in 2011 submitted Bader, KOd Shogun to win the belt, submitted Rampage then submitted Machida.

There are a bunch more that have had better years than Jorge just had. Popularity wise, ya no doubt its been great for Jorge, but UFC is also more popular than its ever been and on ESPN. I guess if we are talking just mass popularity, Jorge is up there. Actual MMA success, its not in the discussion.

Masvidal has had a great year, but this whole calling out Canelo thing is a huge misstep, unless he just knows that isn't something that would ever happen but will get him attention despite that. I'm a white belt (maybe 3 stripes) in boxing knowledge, but pretty sure Canelo vs Masvidal is about 10 times LESS competitive than Mayweather vs Conor was.

Masvidal would get his face rearranged within 3 rounds. 100%. That fight is a joke. I guess you can't blame Jorge for shooting his shot when you see that Canelo made ~70x his purse though.

That would be the most lopsided fight in history. Worse than that Mayweather exhibition against the Japanese kid. Canelo is such a search & destroy tactician. He would eat Jorge's punches on the gloves and destroy him within 3 or 4 counters.

And Jorge would get his largest payday of his career by FAR. Dude made $500,000 from the UFC in his last fight, regardless of what happens against Canelo, he'd be in an whole different stratosphere if that fight were to happen. From fighting in the backyards with Kimbo to multimillion dollar PPV headliners and mainstream awareness. What more could a man ask for?

As dumb as it sounds to say, given that Mac-May somehow got made, I don't think Canelo-Masvidal would be sanctioned. Canelo is too destructive. Mayweather didn't have that crumpling power. Where, Mac, plausibly, did. But Canelo is a panzer division. There is not even a remote chance of Jorge clipping him. None. And Canelo is so good at throwing counters from the guard. The odds would seriously be like 100:1.
