CJ McCollum would be excoriated on this board if he were a Buck. He has too many of those random 9point 4/12 shooting nights for you to be comfortable with him being a key guy you can rely on.

There's a lot more important things than this in the league but Lillard being mad about the Warriors leaving Oakland and then losing to the Warriors satisfies me more than it should.

There's too much talent on that Phoenix team to be as bad as they've been the last couple years. Glad to see them start to put it together. Monty gonna be a serious COTY candidate.

For now at least no Ayton helps them. He's a bit like KAT in the sense that I don't think he helps you win until he consistently plays good defense.

Baynes isn't gonna continue to shoot 48% from 3 and Booker isn't gonna be a 50/50/90 guy for the whole year, so they'll need Ayton's offense if they wanna contend for a playoff spot eventually. If you can get him to be a passable defender, he's gonna be a perennial All-Star.

One thing to note is it's a completely different team than they had for most of the bad years. Booker is the only player left from the 17/18 season and Booker, Bridges, Ayton, and okobo are the only guys left on the roster from the start of last season. They basically replaced all the terrible players Ryan McDonough had assembled and got not terrible players to take their place. The two trades James Jones made last season sending out Ariza and Anderson for oubre and Tyler Johnson were a good start to the process.

Eh I think they performed to expectations the last few years - Mcdougnah had no clue how to build an NBA team. Jones adding Rubio, Johnson, Saric, Baynes, Oubre, Kamisky gave them guys who could play in the NBA. You aren't going to win rolling out Tyler Ulis and Josh Jackson as starters. Now more than ever you can't have multiple guys in a rotation who simply can't play.
