Doubt they'd give up on him so early. Kevin Love might be an interesting trade target though. Would fit in very well with this team, and has a history with Ricky Rubio.

I really don't trust Ayton's defense (especially in the playoffs) with pairing him next to Love.

A strong, defensive minded PF who can space the floor (that's available + isn't old) doesn't really exist.

The best PF I could think of that fits that mold would be Al Horford or Serge Ibaka. Both clearly not available. I do think Love will get traded and I think to the Blazers for Whiteside, Simons, and a 1st round pick (maybe 2). Love is from the Pacific Northwest so I could see him being happy being traded there.

Gallinari might be the most attainable PF that might fit us but I do like Saric and want to see how this plays out longer.

Yup. Saric and Kaminsky have been a little up and down but definitely deserve the opportunity to become consistent. Gallo and Love are out there if needed, but no need to shake things up too soon.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

That's what I'm hoping for my Dynasty team. Put Simons on the Cavs and let him ball (hopefully)

Jerami Grant is a FA this summer.. I still hope Saric can develop into our long term PF, or at least a key reserve.. his play style is perfect for Monty’s system.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head in that defensive minded PFs don’t really exist anymore. They just play C. You can get away with multiple poor defenders if you have an anchor at the C.

Love checks all boxes on offense but yeah that defensive pairing is trash. I’d be willing to do it because he’s comparable on that end to Dario and Kaminsky plus his game will age well even as his role is reduced over the next few years. He knows how to be the third fiddle on great teams which is important. I think it could work out well if Love shared a lot of his minutes with Baynes.

He was very efficient last year despite being the only player defenses had to worry about. We've never seen him in a James Harden role with good players around him. Would be fun to watch, but what we're doing now works really well, too.

I don't want to see him in a James Harden role. I don't think he's built for that. Just from a physicality standpoint Harden's ability to take hits to get to the rim game after game, the pressure he deals with being the primary ball handler and primary focus of defenses and just the herky-jerky movements he makes just to create AND still manage to play 96% of games over the past 5 seasons alone is extremely impressive. Booker just isn't built for that and that's exactly why playing more off ball would work better for him and for the longevity of his career imo.

Dario is going to turn it on, he is a historically slow starter to seasons and really gets going as the season goes on. If Dario is playing at his full potential this is a scary good team for sure. I do like the idea of adding Jerami Grant to replace Frank this offseason, if Frank does not work out for us.

Seems like people have been talking about Love for about 10 years.

We’ll it’s been 10 years since the Suns have had a good PF haha.

I did kind of want him around the Bledsoe/Dragic days but at this point he's too overpaid and too old. Definitely not worth it.

Looks like poll results show Baynes should keep starting with 82% of votes, though that is split between 3 options with different language about why he comes off the bench.

I believe for the good of Ayton, he should be with Ricky all the time. That will maximize what he brings to the team immensely.

You nailed it. Jerami Grant should be de target indeed. Athletic, awesome defender, can score from everywhere, and he always tries his best out on the cort. Would be a perfect fit.

If the Grizz like Clarke as their PF of the future, I wonder what it would take to nab JJJ. Probably something we don't have.

Why has Mikal only attpted 7 threes and is only playing 20mpg? Is he bad? Is he destined to be a bench piece due to Obre/Booker?

Zero chance they trade him. They actually work well as a 3 man rotation...they can throw a rebounder and just an offensive guy even with either one in there...or play together in small ball, though rebounding could be a problem. I like their future. Strong defense and solid PG. Will be interesting to see if Melton develops into much.

On another note, Bender, Chriss and Josh Jackson should join the BIG3 contest. They could even get Isaiah Canaan and maybe Jamal Crawford to join.

I agree they won’t trade him, but it’s funny to see Memphis posters so low on him and constantly trying to trade him on the trade board.
