I think it is what it is. He has a degenerative issue and you have to baby him or you might risk losing him for some time. He has proven though, that when the chips are down and it is playoff time he will give it his all.

That being said, I like the load management now as it isn’t our problem. Has to be at least a bit worrying in terms of his longevity. To me, the only real losers are the ones who attend maybe one game a year and wanted to see Kawhi and this was their only chance.

What people don’t get is that there is more to a team than a star. I know the league is driven by star power but games like this are good for a team because it can offer different roles for players who might not get the same chances because the star is often the one who has to carry such a heavy workload.

People say Kawhi is a coward for sitting out against a potential Finals matchup. I disagree. Kawhi has faced this team before. He knows their nuances. Maybe it’s more psychologically powerful to test some of his teammates against them.

There is a bigger picture here and anybody bummed because the marquee matchup is off needs to step back and realize it can still be a good game. Maybe not. Maybe so. I just know that stars playing or not playing does not define the regular season for me. I just like to see good basketball. If the C’s sit out their big guys here and there I won’t care because I love watching the young players develop too.

There's 3 people on Spurs Talk with a proven track record of having a source and they all say, while the disagreement on the handling of the injury is true and the organization shares some of the blame in how things went down, he essentially used it as an excuse to quit and attempt to strongarm them into trading him to L.A.

The league does because they don't have evidence otherwise and the organization does because he's their ticket to a contrived championship(s).

My issue is teams need to quit being rewarded with tv exposure. They should be able to pull that game and put sixers/jazz on instead.

Fantastic idea. The league also needs to stop choosing the comfort of the player over the desire of the fans every damn time as well. The NBA chose to be a league that promotes their stars, stop giving us nationally televised games where we get to see them sitting on the bench, perfectly healthy, instead of playing.
