Noel is improving again. He is know has a great shot blocker, but he has developed a nice mid-range shot and his passing ability is improving.
I was impressed by him in the two OKC games I've seen this season.

Interesting gamble, more than Drummond - but..

I don't see that as a gamble at all. Semi is a dime a dozen and we don't need another 2nd round pick. I'd do that in a heartbeat if the financials work.

It’s a gamble on the locker room, Noel doesn’t have a great reputation - he was a free agent this summer and he came back to OKC for two million.. our FO is supposedly wary of his “character”.

Joakim Noah? Noah Vonleh? I’d be on board with one of those choices. Not Joakim. The thought of him in green makes me want to vomit

They should focus on extending Hayward to a cost friendlier deal.

Why? He looked good in Memphis last year.

Vonleh is with Minnesota - it’s possible Joakim Noah has told teams he’ll sign closer to the playoffs? Otherwise it’s a mystery why he’s not playing after how he did at the end of last season.

Too bad. He seemed like of those "energy raiser" kinds of guys back then.

Which imo might be possible. Id like that.
Good assessment:

Can we now, please, stop trying to give Hayward away in a trade?

Also, I think Wannamaker's trade value just went up a slight bit. I don't think he is a complete negative now.

Brad Wanamaker to Minnesota for Naz Reid. Gives us a legit 4 prospect who can pass and has 3 point range while being large enough to bang on the glass

The if-healthy rotation probably features all of:

Kanter/RobWill
Theis/GrantWill
Hayward/Tatum/Brown
Smart
Walker/Edwards

That's 10 guys. I don't see the point of a trade unless it's for somebody who will take minutes from one or more of them, or for a pure prospect better than Langford/Waters/Fall.

When was the last time the Boston Celtics were completely healthy?

I believe the goal has always been to improve the roster when possible. Even a minor move for an end of the bench guy can sometimes make a difference. As the old saying goes: you are only as strong as your weakest link.

Trade for Bertans. Adding a sniper to the bench would be really helpful.

Or Vonleh. Give them Ojeleye too.

I wonder what they would demand for someone like him. One of the best shooters in the league.

Smart, Kanter, Langford, Porier, Memphis pick for Drummond.

Drummond PnR with either Kemba or Hayward as ball handler and Brown and Tatum on the wings would be lethal. Drummond will instantly improve our rebounding. He gives us someone with the requisite size and athleticism to match up with Embiid, Giannis, Davis if we want to make a serious run. If you can get him without giving up Kemba, Brown, Tatum or Hayward you gotta do it. He's a great fit next to those 4. Sucks to lose Smart but you still got Edwards, Semi, Grant, Theis, Rob on the bench.

I know what the old saying is, but Smart is about as close as you're gonna get to being untouchable on this team.

That is not in Hayward's DNA. He'd still be with Utah if they had given him the money he wanted when he wanted it.

Hayward playing better increases rather than decreases the chances of him being traded. We were never going to sell low. It is buy low and sell high.

Originally I was trying to keep Smart, Brown, Tatum, Hayward and Kemba while trading for Drummond. To make salary work I think we would need to send all of Theis, Kanter, Langford, Semi, Porier and both Williams. Can't see a 7-1 trade happening. I'm not trying to trade Smart but I would for Drummond.

You don't trade Smart for a guy of questionable defensive effort, perhaps unless the trade is completely lopsided in your favor otherwise.
