I can't (won't?) use shift when typing. Instead, when I need to capitalize a letter, I turn Caps Lock on, type the letter, and then turn it off and continue typing. I thought this was relatively normal behavior. Am I certifiably insane?

Drew's not willing to call that guy insane but I am. That guy's **** insane.

Not as insane as the kid who's never cut his own toenails before. Da fuq?

It's weird because the second I could start cutting my nails on my own, I did. I don't want anybody messing around with my nails because I know how deep I can cut without having it hurt.

Anyone who's ever had to cut a pet's claws/toenails knows how nerve-wracking it can be to make sure you're clipping them without hurting them. It's a lot easier to clip your own.

I made a minor gash in my kid's finger when he was like 1.5 years old clipping his fingernail and that was probably the biggest **** of my life. Kids do not stop screaming/crying in that situation. I probably should've been better with my 1st aid skills to try to elevate and patch/gauze it myself but had to go into urgent care after like an hour straight of screaming/crying from a slow blood gush from the finger.

Should've just squeezed his finger and kept putting a wet, warm cloth on the cut. Squeezing it makes it feel better and stops the bleeding quicker.

Yeah, like I said I'm an idiot in that regard although this one may have required some medical intervention, regardless. I think I was trying some of this and it wasn't working, already a few years ago.

Not everyone can be the master of finger cuts like me. I've had cuts on the inside of my thumb for damn near 30 years.

See?

In my case, it's a government requirement (unless you want to jump through a million hoops to get an e-mail delivery approved with every individual you deal with). Faxing is far easier.

You guys, over a month ago I sat in a piece of glass that went four inches into my ass, about as close as you can get to the worst possible spot. I bled from that spot for two weeks. That wasn't even the worst of it, though. I got a hematoma the size of a golf ball that stuck out of my waste-line that still hasn't healed. Imagine just wearing pants and shifting in your chair or on the couch and feeling like you're being stabbed instantly. That's been my month.

I also have to work with government agencies, but faxing is NOT easier than emailing anything, IMO, but you have to have the option to do so. The argument in favor of faxing is that it is more secure, even more than a properly encrypted email service. However, it's also a lot more prone to human error. I can't tell you how many times I've faxed in confidential information to agencies only for them to tell me that they "lost" it or that it was "misfiled" or - more likely - it was just sitting in a pile somewhere.

Since we're talking about weird injuries, I was in the Dominican Republic surfing a few weeks ago and the board I was using was so abrasive that just the friction from when I was paddling out wore through many layers of skin. By the end of each session I was a bloody mess and I had to wear shorts to work for a week when I got back or be in agony. Then, I got tripped in an indoor soccer game and shoot about 3 get on one knee, that didn't help.

The same thing happened to me once in a hotel pool. I didn't really feel it when I was in the water but I could barely walk when I was out of the water because the bottom of my feet were shredded.

When The Big Kahuna first opened at Noah's Ark it had something similar. Probably to prevent kids from slipping while running in the most shallow part, but it was way too sharp. If you fell from a wave, your hands and knees got cut up.

Sorry, I meant faxing was easier than the e-mail approval process, so we just keep on faxin'!! So far, I haven't had to deal with any lost faxes.

I let the admins know about these issues yesterday and they're going to address it with the company that does their ad blocking. I've run into it, too.

Holy crap that sounds awful. In high school I got a massive softball sized hematoma over L3/L4 that was so excruciating I missed an entire week on bed rest. They were inviting doctors in to look at it.

I remember going in and they asked me to lay on my back, I couldn't because I was screaming in pain. Heal quickly, it's a terrible feeling.

Most gruesome/weird injury I've had (that still doesn't hold a candle to these in the end) was when I had braces probably freshman year of HS...at basketball practice I was running to get the ball from the PG who had picked up his dribble and was trapped so I was like 5 feet away and running toward him. He turned and threw a very hard pass thinking I had not come toward him.

Ball hit me in the face, next thing I know my mouth is bleeding. All of my braces had been knocked off of my teeth and were dug into/lodged in my gums. I think I luckily got into the orthodontist that night but the aftermath of it was not as bad as you'd think. I think I was in some pain for a few days but everything was back to normal within a week or so.
