You would have thought that when you have a 178 million contract guy he would manage to have a little separation from DDV, Pat etc

The biggest diva in the NBA. It's not just the Bucks...

Cool. Put it in the Middleton thread. Don't infect this one.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

You have to play a certain amount of games to get the ring.

No you don't. It's entirely up to the team.

Seriously? Can somebody confirm this?
What's the reason to deny somebody a ring even if he has played only 5-10 games then?
Isn't it free?

Pretty sure the owners pay for them.

Teams make all sorts of arbitrary calls every season on who gets rings. How many of the staff get them, which traded players still deserve one etc.

It feels like he’s setting so many records like this that it’s almost becoming commonplace. Partly because of the nature of picking out arbitrary combinations of stats but 99.5% because he’s that damn amazing. I feel like I’m inundating my friends and family who are bucks fans with “Giannis is Amazing” graphics and stats.

I'm actually amazed that even Wilt never put up those kind of numbers to start a season. That's mind-boggling.

It's really been opening night and the last four games. Games 2-4 were not good... I know he had a good stat line against the Heat and had some amazing plays in that game, but that 3Q was crazy bad.

No.

Yeah I love me some Giannis but he’s not there (yet) and honestly has a ways to go to get to that level. God mode Rodgers in the early 2010s was something no other football player was ever near in that run. As amazing as Giannis is, Kawhai, Lebron, KD are at bare minimum in the conversation.

As awesome as it is when Yianni has the ball at the top of the key, it looks so much better for Milwaukee when he gets a single matchup in the mid-post. It gives the Bucks a different wrinkle in close games because 98% of the time the defense will send a double team and that will leave someone open. Yianni being comfortable shooting a 3 is awesome but if he really cleans up his footwork and focuses on those turnaround jump hooks he can become even more dominant. Especially if he improves his FT shooting obviously. That's where he'll own the league for the next seven years. Abusing mismatches on the block and being able to ice a game with the mid-range and at the FT line. I certainly don't mind it if he also develops a nice little pull-up jumper from 15-18 feet after one or two dribbles.
"Wes, Hill, Ibaka, Allen, Nwora, Brook, Pat, Ingles, Khris are all slow-mo, injury prone ... a sandcastle waiting for playoff wave to get wrecked. A castle with no long-range archers... is destined to fall. That is all I have to say."-- FOTIS

Giannis past 4 games SECOND HALF:

16pts 6/8 field, 0-2 3pt, 6rbs, 3 assists

25pts 7/12 field, 3/5 3pt, 9rbs, 7assists

28pts 10/15 field, 2/3 3pt, 9rbs, 1 assist

24pts 9/11 field, 1/2 3pt, 10rbs, 1 assist.

FOR a lot of players, this would be a great game, YET THIS IS GIANNIS IN THE 3RD AND 4TH QUARTERS!!!!!!!!!!

That nuts. We talk about players that elevate their games, when it counts, look at how giannis is dominating the second half of games. This is amazing!

He can do it all, get to the cup, hit a jumper, hit a 3ptr. He does it all in the second half.

Lately he looks bottled up in the first half with teams attacking him, building walls, and he's just throwing back outside nonstop. And then by the 3rd quarter, he's like...**** it. Time to go to work. And he can't be stopped. It's been a joy to watch.

Giannis is basically at his 17-18 3 point shooting percentages (~31%) while having double the attempts from 3 (3.9 per game).

At the same time, Giannis is also acknowledging Kidd's methods did not work for anyone else. And I think those comments are only relative to individual player development. They certainly don't endorse Kidd's in-game coaching or grasp of basic math.
