Yes, I am famous for being a Lebron hater, you got me.

It was both, and either way it does not matter and did not matter, but it was probably less “defensible” than what Kawhi is doing, except with a fraction of the accompanying public meltdown.

Why the **** did we lose Horford AND Baynes in one offseason..........that could be the difference b/w being a legit top tier contender or not

why is Baynes playing like Bill Walton with a 3pt shot and without the rebounding

at least Hayward is playing well again

Baynes probably got tired of Tom Heinsohn watching him shower

Idk that trade was a head-scratcher. Stevens was clearly pissed about it. I think they had other options to clear cap space, no?

I think the FIBA tournament this year gave Baynes a ton of confidence. Happens to a lot of guys.

This brings up an interesting question though: if you’re the Suns, what do you do when Ayrton comes back from his suspension?

Baynes, at least the way he’s playing right now, is a starting-quality center, maybe even an above average one. I know the dude is 32 so he’s not the future but he is maybe the second most important part of what they’ve been doing this year. Can you really just give that up?

Maybe they look to trade him to a team looking to make a run. At this point there will be a lot of win-now teams looking for him to make a push. He is found money for the Suns.

And you have to kind of decide what’s more important: letting Booker and Ayton get a bit of chemistry, or letting Booker learn how t play with a great big man who sets screens and pops and communicates defensively.

Idk. I guess this is why I’m not working for a front office.

Ayton can play PF defensively against most matchups, so you can bring Baynes off the bench and play them together for alot of minutes or maybe start both but thats probably not ideal

you play Ayton...they don't have a choice, moving him to the bench would **** with his development, and they need to know exactly what they have in him.

Baynes has been nice but let's not act like he's a make or break for this franchise

I was impressed by the Kings vs the Raptors. They didn't play much defense but they were finding open 3s in the half court all game. I can see them bouncing back in a big way from their 0-5 start if this is Walton's system kicking in

What a revelation Isaac has been. I watched some Magic at the end of last year and he was pretty good but what he’s doing defensively this year is just amazing. Another 4 block game, who would’ve thought he could lead the league.

Jokic is the clutchest player in the league, can’t change my mind.

how does Dame drop a 60 burger in a loss?

it's time to move on from this duo. trade CJ already.

Whenever I watched the Trail Blazers I thought Aminu was doing his job. I think that trade might be the source of the current woes.

My apologies then must have gotten the details confused.

The rest of the team was awful on offense...Just look at the box score...CJ was 4-19(with only two 3 points attempts and 0 free throw for him)

The Blazers made some super dumb moves last offseason, letting Aminu go on the cheap and trading Harkless.

Their forward spots were probably the weakest part of their roster, and they just got rid of the only two rotation-level guys they had. Left them stuck with a 5 (Collins, who's now injured) at the 4 and a 2 (Hood) at the 3. Very strange.

I don't think CJ's trade value is that high anyway. Probably could flip him for some future picks or a potentially promising young player, but that's about it. And they'd need far more to be competitive than that, probably another all-star at least.Bottom line is they won't be competing for a title under the Lillard era, imo. Ship sailed. Aldridge had solid value, but they decided against trading him and he walked. They couldn't get any all-star to sign to fill that void, so they stuck around in mediocrity until they gambled on Nurkic and it paid off, that is until that unfortunate injury, which i think put a stop to this 'core' going any further, i doubt Nurk will come back the same player. The moves they made this offseason where questionable at best, but i really think they felt pressured to do something immediately. Not a good look to have Lillard/CJ in their prime, get to the WCF without Nurk, the Warriors disband, and then you do nothing over the Summer while other teams get better... It's a tough position to be in as the FO.

Now, Dame is approaching 30, CJ is clearly not 2nd option quality on a contender, and Nurk is a big question mark. The rest of the roster is all over the place. I think they'll wait and see this season out before making any drastic decision, unless a really good opportunity presents itself. But yeah, i'd be making phone calls around the league looking for what i could get for a package centered around CJ... I just don't believe they could make enough moves and get the right pieces in before Lillard starts getting further removed from his prime. I do think they will try something, it will probably fail, and then they realize it's probably best to just blow it up and start over in the lottery.

I've always been a little skeptical as to how much trading CJ would move the needle for them. He's really good for what he is, but what he is is an undersized moderate volume scorer who is weak as a defender and playmaker. It seems like your best case scenario is getting back a similarly talented but similarly flawed player at another position, and most likely that player isn't as good a scorer as CJ which leaves Dame shouldering an even bigger burden. Nurkic was definitely their best hope to get off the treadmill - the team they had for most of last season would have been a contender right now, even with the annual playoff questions over Aminu and Harkless.
