I know guys may not like to hear about the guys we didn't draft, but he's looking pretty good.

Every Suns board (not just realgm) had a consensus in wanting him in the draft.

I still have no idea why he was passed on, he fits this team perfectly.

Yeah... I didn't understand it. I do like Cam Johnson though. Just gotta wait til Cam goes on a tear from 3, and we'll all end up liking that pick a lot more.

Yeah but Cam’s ceiling seems to be that of a 3pt specialist (which are somewhat dime a dozen to find in this league now) while Clarke has a higher ceiling with inside scoring, defense and some 3pt shooting to his repertoire.

I have been pleasantly surprised with the non shooting aspects of cams game.

Sixers lose another one. Contenders in the East, pretenders when they face the West.

Nobody out east wants to help tonight. At least the grizzlies won.

I'm getting strong Marquese Chriss vibes from JJJ. Stupid fouls, bad rebounding, low BBIQ, lack of improvement year to year...

We are two now. I said the same thing in Grizz pre-game thread.

Only player I'm really upset we don't have from their roster is Morant. I was almost as high on him as Zion, at least because I thought he's obtainable.

JJJ is already a stud defensively, particularly. He's just pretty young, having just turned 20. But his weakness has always been rebounding. He's strictly a 3D, shot blocking PF who is a great switcher. Him and Clarke really help out with that stuff while Jonas cleans up inside...and lacks the lateral quickness on D.

I think JJJ comes along a bit slower kind of like Isaac...some similarities there.

That's nuts considering how bad it seems like we've been at that in the past. But Baynes is great at that. So underrated. A box score watcher might think "3 rebounds? What's the deal?" but his boxing out allows Rubio or whoever do grab those boards.

I REALLY hope Ayton can pick up on all this, but may be hard to pick up on all of it, with the screens, box outs, moving great defensively to be in the right spots for the team, etc.

I really hope Baynes communicates with him and Ayton asks questions...picks his brain.

We always talk about mentoring, whether it be Nash with Dragic or whover, and then Chandler...but with this I hope it's for real. Ayton seems, at least based on what you hear, that he does ask lots of questions.

Yeah, Rubio is a really good PG rebounder, but he is averaging 2 plus rebounds per game than his normal avg.
Nonetheless I think when Baynes is on the bench and with Ayton out, we suffer a lot to get rebounds even against SF.
I hope Ayton come back soon...

Not doing 5th grade basketball fundamentals?

In response to what you're saying BW, I always felt if a veteran talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk, it's hard to take him seriously. Chandler might have been in Len's ear, and then in Ayton's ear but the dude was lazy AF. With Baynes, if that guy tells you something, you better be damn sure you got a paper and pencil and taking notes because that guy walks the walk.

One reason I didn't immediately like the acquisition of Tyler Johnson last year, I initially thought he was just an overpaid bench player. I didn't know his personality, that he was a hard worker, and that immediately showed when he came to our team. James Jones has really scouted an element that McD never did and that's hustle & hard work.

Middleton shouldn't have been an all-star. He's weak-minded and cost the Bucks the game against the Jazz. Good shot by Bojan though.

I knew Sixers-Nuggets and Bucks-Jazz would be good games, but holy ****. Fun night in the NBA.

Miami is shooting 3/24 from 3 btw as expected.
