Good game from him last night, that's about what I want to see out of him. Shame he missed that layup, but rest of the game was good. Hope this is the start of some consistent play on offense for him

Don’t think I’ve ever seen frank accelerate like he did at the :20 mark. Obviously it would have been nice to see him finish but it’s still a decent attempt.
He’s slowwwlyy getting there, I really want to see him keep building in the next game.

Re: Frank Thread 3: FIBA Frank Aftermath
People are going to hate on the way Fiz handled Frank but remember fiz gave frank more of a chance than Hornacek did. Frank and KP were the best two man duo in the league according to plus minus stats and KP's camp requestd for Frank to start, yet Horny didn't trust Frank.
I hope this narrative that Fiz doesnt care about Frank dies, we dont need that negativity surrounding the team spreading through the media or fans like French Knicks pod. Fiz always talks about how Frank is a great kid and Fiz even got thrown out of a game sticking up for Frank against charlotte last year.

That narrative will only fade when Fiz clearly states Frank now holds the starting PG job and he then stands by him when Frank has some bad games. Fiz is exactly the guy who will start another guard the next game after Frank gets into foul trouble and his sub has one good performance. Until then its all just talk.

Fiz is warming up.
The player he reminds me of is Doug Christie. Long, lengthy. Intense defender. Great role player. Down to having the yips about shooting early in his career.

We lose the Cavs game tomorrow. Next game Frank DNP: CD. "we weren't winning"
this is basically what happened last year.

Yeah, that's Fizdale's manic depressive decision making process so until he steadies himself as a coach there is no reason to applaud him for backing Frank since he could pull the plug after a single game where he second-guesses himself. Fiz has impostor syndrome. Until he feels he belongs he's going to be a batchit crazy coach who makes random decisions and then talks crap to justify his moves.
Frank is still here and they had no intention of re-signing Mudiay so WTF was last season about? Getting Mudiay a contract offer somewhere else? That's not development, so consider me anti-Fiz until he proves himself worthy of our support. He hasn't done much to earn that yet.

I've been saying this since he was drafted and i said it numerous times on this board. I love the way Christie played. I see Frank being better defensively though.

Doug had an edge. It looks like Frank may be finding his now too

He didn't at first. Do you remember him with the Knicks?

Not really because he only played a few dozen games or so with very few minutes when briefly with the Knicks IIRC
I think the guy we remember came into his own soon afterwards and was whom we remember from about 96-02 or thereabouts

I've been very critical of Frank over the past few years, but I'm really happy for him. He's a really likable, innocent kid. I still don't think he's the future at the Point, but Frank at the 2 and RJ at the 3 makes a lot of sense.

Fiz also played Frank 22 minutes a game and called him his swiss army knife. Frank just sucked and has now had two good games.Dantares wrote:People are going to hate on the way Fiz handled Frank but remember fiz gave frank more of a chance than Hornacek did. Re: Frank Thread 3: FIBA Frank Aftermath
I don't blame Fiz or any coach for treating Frank the way he did. Frank was always thought to be a player who would not develop until his 3rd year in the league and until the past 1-2 weeks, that was also looking suspect. I am glad that Frank had a breakout game. I am hoping that he will continue to get better. It will be Fiz's fault if he gives the starting spot to Payton when Frank is playing the way he has been playing.
