who cares about his offense.

what he does on the defense is sustainable and is his calling card. he’s a pest defensively.

he just never got a legit chance by this current regime.

A guard who has a career FG of 35.6 % and TS of 43.2% is beyond terrible. Good defense or not. A guard has to be able to shoot a respectable percentage.

Even Tony Allen has a career FG of 47.5% and TS 52.9%. So right now, Frank’s a poor mans Tony Allen. Tony Allen is his ceiling which is just a role player.

marcus smart is doing just fine.

a role player is what he is, and nobody is saying anything else. his defense is always a thing of beauty.

his 7’1” wingspan is disruptive.

Knicks fans love to hype role players. It's been going on for ages. Mitch Robinson, Landry Fields, Tim Hardaway Jr etc.

True say. He was drafted on potential.

He has lost the battle but not the war! Lol

But frank has looked really good. Hopefully he keeps it up. Consistency is his biggest problem.

He started off poorly.

The last 4 games he’s started he’s shooting 48% FG and 58% from 3PT

For clarity...before that he was coming off the bench with two PG's ahead of him on the depth chart.

He's taking charge way more often now. Maybe getting buried lit a fire under his ass finally.

As a Knicks fan happy about his recent play, but I wouldn't be using the term "arrived" for him. He looks like a quality rotation player who would play a role for a good team. He "arrived" into being a role-player.

I doubt the OP is serious. I see that Knicks fans are cringing at this thread, I guess it was made to grab some popcorn and laugh at the responses.

Tony Allen was still at Oklahoma State when he was Frank's age.

One good game in 3 years is now a surefire sign that a player has arrived? Who knew.

I mean they should start him because their other options are worse but you need 15-20 ppg from your other starters if your PG is only giving you 10.

Wish they would have tried to get shooters instead of signing 4 PFs though.

RJ and Frank have enough shooters, imo.

Knox, Dotson, Trier, Ellington, Portis. And Bullock is still set to return. This isn't including Randle because he kinda holds to ball a lot in the post. Maybe they could have gotten another stretch 5 b/c Mitch and Taj can't shoot.

Not the greatest shooters, but enough for RJ and Frank to develop their passing game.

The issue is actually RJ and Frank themselves need to develop a shooting game. There's no real issue of them finding shooters.

Guy averaging 9/3/3 over a few games has arrived? Da hell.

He's a great defender.

Those guys are ok.

But Knicks had a ton of cap space and could have added some elite shooters. Signing 4 players at the same position was a very stupid move.

I don't know how anyone could justify that.

Who are some elite shooters they could have signed for a 1+1 contract? Because it was pretty clear the Knicks weren't signing guys to longer term deals unless it was the top FAs.

Knicks lost Kornet, Lance Thomas, Vonleh, and KP. So they replaced them. Why is it so hard for the GB to understand the Knicks just refilled their position spots?

Dont know why this is news.

Frank arrived in the summer during the WC and everyone with a brain saw it. But it took injuries/unfortunate absences to every other PG to give him finally the minutes he deserved since the WC. Including Perrys idiotic Payton signing "but i wanna have my guy that i drafted with the Magic".

Im still pissed that the Mavs didnt trade for him during draft night when the Knicks wanted to sell him ultracheap (rumorwise)
