Re: 2019-20 NBA Season Discussion
I have admittedly watched them more the last three games than their good start to the season, and they're not 100%, but Sixers look overrated in my opinion. I am not crazy about Harris-Horford-Embiid together as the three creators on the floor, it's a lot of post play for the 2019 game, like a modern version of Pippen-Sheed-Sabonis or something. While I expect JRich to turn it around from 3, the loss of Redick looks like it hurts as well.
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

It's never good to lose 2 importants players for at least 2 weeks like Lowry and Ibaka, but the timing is awful for the Raptors, since they have a lot of huge challenge in the next 2 weeks on the road, so let's hope their win-loss record will not be awful for the next 2 week for them.

I also always have some doubts about that, especially on offense .... I did not see their 4th quarter against Denver yesterday, but I would not be surprised if it's because Denver played a lot of zone, which gave problems to the 76ers on offense.

Do you have the LeBron+Allen numbers for 2013? I recall that being really high.

The chemistry between Lebron and Davis seems very good
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

Rondo is playing tomorrow so hopefully that cancels out the loss of Lowry

Yes and they have been on the court at the same time during 196 minutes after 8 games(24 minutes per game)
It's more crazy when it's Howard and Davis at the same time. This is +36.5 per 100 possessions with Howard and Davis on the court at the same time, which is impressive even though the sample size is smaller (75 minutes, over 9 minutes per game)

Though they're still losing, it's funny how the Warriors are looking at least somewhat competitive again instead of getting their doors blown off. Despite missing both Curry and Dray, they actually look like an NBA team that can compete by running simple high screen rolls instead of that ridiculously complex motion offense that Kerr had been insisting on in the beginning of the year.
Kerr really baffles me with his coaching sometimes. He's almost ideological to a fault.

Dr. Spaceman had a good post on this a couple weeks ago. It takes a very rare, talented cast of players with unusually good IQ, passing skill, screening ability (especially the guards), shooting, and motor to be able to consistently execute a system like that with few enough mistakes to actually make it worth it.
Curry, Draymond, Bogut, Iggy, Livingston, Klay... they were blessed to have so many guys who had the talents pull off that whirring death machine.

Not to mention continuity and experience. Kerr tried to force the same offense on a team that had only two guys from the last year's roster, surrounded by a host of young and new players. Classic case of trying to stuff a square peg into a round hole.

Will Harden have back to back 36 ppg scoring seasons? It seems like 35 is a given for him nightly. So easy for him

Not almost.
It’s literally inexcusable for him to have freaking Russell spam pnrs with massive impact and go 3 or 4 games putting Curry off the ball like JJ Redick.
Swinging for the fences.

Re: 2019-20 NBA Season Discussion
Chris Paul looks way, WAY better than last year. Way more explosive and actually getting to the rim and foul line consistently the past two weeks.
He looked totally dead in the water the first week of the season. Like almost a net negative.
Reminds of the turnaround LeBron had in 2015-16.
Would money match up somehow if the Bucks got Paul and kept Bledsoe.
Bledsoe and Paul worked great in LA.
Paul
Bledsoe
Middleton
Giannis
Lopez
Goran is having his own box score renaissance as well but his on/court splits are atrocious.
Miami should fire away on that trade.

At this rate he might average close to 40 this year.makaveli_99 wrote:Will Harden have back to back 36 ppg scoring seasons? It seems like 35 is a given for him nightly. So easy for him

I actually think getting the veterans off the floor was a big improvement. It’s hard for young players to feel confident when they’re getting barked at by Draymond and he’s shaking his head pulling the “Im not mad, I’m just disappointed” routine all while not giving any effort himself.

actually you were right earlier, Kerr should've ditched the motion stuff way earlier, there was no way these G Leaguers could've done anything running that offense.

Re: 2019-20 NBA Season Discussion
In hindsight I don't think so. 3 titles in 5 years + 73 wins > 4 titles in 5 years.Dr Spaceman wrote:clyde21 wrote:i get that Kawhi has to load manage to make sure he gets to the POs healthy
but what if guys like Steph and KD and LeBron were all on a 30 mins restriction during their prime and also didn't play back to backs to get ready for the playoffs, are we gonna act like that things wouldn't have been different for them as well?
seems like Kawhi is having his cake and eating it too, gets to chill af in the RS because he's Kawhi while everyone else has to go through the rigors of it, and then he pounces in the PS...
Curry should have been load managed. It was 100% a mistake to push for 73 wins and it cost them a title.
And it's unlikely they even win those 4 titles because if they win in 2016 who knows if Durant comes.

It's likely at this point if he continues to have 24 shot per game, 14 three points per game and 15 free throw attempts.
If its efficiency becomes like last year (44% on the field and 36% on 3 points), 40 PPG is possible ... Harden is at 37 PPG right now, even if its efficiency is poor right now (under 40% on the field).
