ANyone think that was a dirty pick set by the spurs? Just saying....i feel like if Perk or Baynes did that the refs would roll out the electric chair.....

Nah, it was just a hair late and Aldridge is a big guy, the normal foul call was appropriate.

I thought it was more physical than it needed to be.

Man, I hate that Gordon got injured. Missing a month means missing 14 games, among which are two games against BKN, who I absolutely wanted to destroy. Oh well. The team is playing like a team instead of a bunch of individuals. We may well shock some people this year.

Me too, but in a foul called on the pick rather than a flagrant kind of a way. I didn't think it was purposeful or anything, Aldridge was a step behind on everything all night including setting that pick. If it hadn't caught Gordon off guard it wouldn't have looked like much, IMHO. Of course even with a replay it's somewhat subjective so I do get where people are coming from.

Here's an interesting article on metacarpal hand injuries. The worst thing for Gordon is probably the massive disappointment he must feel, but at least he has already proven how great he can be again, so he doesn't have to overcome that hurdle anymore.

Do you have a sense of what type of fracture Hayward has suffered based on Stevens’ comments?

Dr. Flynn: The most likely fracture with that mechanism is a metacarpal fracture (the long bones in the hand that are like extensions of the fingers). Aron Baynes fractured his fourth metacarpal last season, had surgery and was back a month later.

What’s the worst-case scenario for Hayward with this type of injury? For instance, Steph Curry is out at least three months after suffering his broken hand and having surgery? Why was that worse?

Dr. Flynn: Curry had a second metacarpal fracture that was likely much more complex and possibly involved the joint.

If it is a simple metacarpal fracture, what’s the best-case scenario for something like that generally?

Dr, Flynn: With surgery, four weeks is feasible. Surgery can speed things up but the hand surgeon needs to decide if it would be necessary.

Would there be any reason to avoid doing surgery for a player like Hayward even if it could speed up the timeline?

Dr. Flynn: Just the risk of complications. They’re sticking a pin into the fracture so there is a risk of infection. Athletes often opt for surgery. It can speed up the healing but not by anything immense, maybe by two weeks.

2 to 8 weeks, I'd prefer no surgery, splint, let it heal on own

A month off would be about 15 or so games. Not too bad.

I think it would only be a month (fingers crossed). It did not look nearly as bad as Curry's. And it's on his non-shooting hand, so that's a bit of a silver lining as well.

Not only is he gonna miss games. Gonna have to miss gaming too. Hoping we at least get him back before Christmas.

I hope Hayward goes to all the games and sits in the 2nd row to support the team. I will be real curious how he handles the next several weeks.

Speaking from experience... surgery to put in metal increases the risks of infections which complicates the healing and may require additional surgery to remove it. OTOH, surgery can reduce the healing time. This is a decision for Hayward and his doctor to make.

With his ankle thats what happened and 2nd surgery messed him up.

4 to 6 weeks is fine by me. When I heard the news I thought Steph Curry out for the season type nonsense. Bullet dodged if true. Gives Javonte some time to shine, more minutes for Grant and maybe Romeo gets some burn here and there also.
WHAT THEY GON’ SAY NOW? ‎ THANK YOU TRUTH!
