i think throughout a season it's pretty hard to go "this guy is definitely the 5th best player in the NBA." might sound like a cop out, but i think tiers or at least like "this dude's probably in the top 5" makes more sense.

as far as clippers go, i think harrell's definitely improved upon his standing. pg i'd give an incomplete as he's yet to play a game. kawhi's somewhere in top 5. he's straight up carrying games for this team, but he's missed games.

siakam has gotta be a top 10 player, right?

kat's been lighting things up, but top 10-15 sounds about right for him.

seems like jokic is having a slow start so he probably should fall lower.

also, i have no idea how to rate doncic. and honestly despite the offseason this team had, i'm still somewhat upset and jealous that the team was not able to snag him the year before. was it at all ever possible? no, but it makes you wonder if it could have been, had the team stockpiled the picks that doc lit on fire over the years.

you are not going to get a top-5 pick no matter how many of those garbage picks you bundle together

can't put a bunch of turkeys together and make an eagle :D

BTW, things will change with PG back, but at the moment the Clips are the only team with three 20+-point scorers

Yah I don't think we could've moved up even if we put together a package similar to the Paul George one. Everyone wanted to move up for Doncic at the time, only teams that didn't want him desperately were the ones that had another big name prospect over him in their big board (so only Suns, Kings and Hawks). If you weren't able to offer them the franchise prospect they were looking for (and we weren't, with the 12th and 13th picks), I don't think there was any sort of smaller parts package that we could offer to convince them.

An interesting thought is what if we had lucked out in the lottery and moved into the top 3, imagine a team with Luka, Shai, and Kawhi, who'd still probably agree to come without a second allstar if we had these two big time prospects. That'd be sick, but I guess we can't complain anyway.
