The GMs should be embarrassed. Or it just validated that GMs don’t take those surveys seriously.

Not just GMs, most of the national media was in agreement.

The media is clueless. I like to believe most GMs are competent, whereas I know for a fact most media pundits are not. They’re only competent in the art of drawing clicks/views, but not when it comes to actual basketball discussion.

The problem is that there are 1230 games per season - nobody watches 1230 games. Most media watch the local teams that they are reporting on, and the big market teams. Then they look at box scores. Even worse is RealGM posters who don't watch many games, but just check box scores. I have recently had debates with poster that admit that they never actually watched the games, they just jeck the box scores.

Rubio is no good because he does not fit simple box scores, but he is one of the best point guards in the league.

If only Rubio was hitting his shots on a slightly higher percentage, say a half shot more per game on average on both 2 and 3 point attempts, he'd be easily considered one of the best PGs in the game. He has everything you'd expect classic PG to have but his shot is broken, and that's the only bad thing with him. Other than that, man - stellar defense, great facilitation, great passing, vision, BBIQ, speed.
He is one of the most underappreciated players in the league in my opinion.

Could this team even win 30 games in the NBA?

No way :-) Maybe 10 games...

He shouldn't have been in that team.

According to Patty Mills he was selected in the All tournament team... but the officials forgot to tell him that he needed to be available at the World Cup Gold medal ceremony to collect the award... so his place was taken away from him. FIBA are just an absolute joke. Bogut was maybe right... FIBA are just a corrupt European based organisation.

Would have been weird not to have Scola or Campazzo on that team, if Patty was taking anyones spot, maybe it was Gasol?

You do realize that happens occasionally in those tournaments? It's the rule. Goran Dragic was not voted onto the All Tournament team at 2013 EuroBasket. But his team was there at the finals, since they were the hosts of the tournament, so he was named to the team over Vassilis Spanoulis, who was actually voted onto the team, but whose team was gone.

That's just a recent example that comes to mind. It happened several times before. It wasn't some kind of conspiracy by FIBA against Patty Mills. Yeah, it's a stupid rule, and they obviously do it for marketing purposes, so that it looks better if all the players are there. But it wasn't anything against Mills specifically. Other players have had the same thing happen to them.

Respect to him for being the first and only PG drafted in 2009 to be the MVP of a postseason tournament
Also, something that might surprise people. I think when it comes to athleticism, agility, physical attributes and skill I rate LeBron only in the top 50.

I can never understand the incentive for people who don't watch basketball to post on a basketball message board
