Speaking of ex-Jazz players, how great has Ricky been for the Suns...... Watching the Suns-Nets game and he's playing fantastic......

I just noticed Treyd Burke is on the Sixers' roster. Forgot about that, since IIRC he didn't play against the Jazz. He did play today though(had a good game, it looks like)--he was Neto's backup.

I will never forgive the jazz front office for somehow choosing Allen over Anfernee Simons. Mitchell and Simons could have been a dynasty making combo. Instead we are stuck with Conley who Simons is already better than at 20 years old.

Even if the Jazz drafted Simons he would have been traded to the Grizzlies for Conley as they wanted young players/assets as the main part of the trade. He still wouldn't be on the team.

And what we gave up in the trade was already an overpay (and that's if Conley plays well) but it would have been so much worse if it was Simons we gave up instead of Allen.

PHX is a great fit for him. They've successfully rebuilt their culture. Baynes, Saric, and Rubio were much better pickups than people gave them credit for. With the Warriors down, I think they will make the playoffs this season.

I doubt the trade happens after the coaches watched Simons for a year. The blazers fell in love with Simons last year even though he didn't play much and I believe the same thing would have happened for the jazz. Simons has the potential to be really special. Every bit as good as Mitchell.

Seems like every one of Mitchell's close NBA friends turns into a draft steal. Kuzma, Simons, Paschall. Next time lets draft his buddy instead of the guy he slapped in the face during college

The Jazz were trying to trade as early as the trade deadline. Simons wouldn't have seen any more playtime than Allen did. I don't think they would have seen enough to not do the trade. I'm sure they'd like him and want to keep him, but not to the point of not going through with the trade. (Then again it fell through the first time due to Exum). The other thing that has to be taken into account is the Jazz are in a win now mode. Conley is win now, Simons is later. With the collapse of the Warriors the Jazz wanted to win now.

I think with Simons maybe the Jazz are willing to part with Exum and the Grizzlies accept that deal, but maybe not. Either way Conley gets traded for.

If they had Simons, the Jazz might have been willing to give up Exum. The Jazz are home run or whiff swingers with the draft. Personally, I would like to see them take more chances in the draft as we know that they aren't a free agent destination.

The top 5 in the west is very close and I don't think any team is near their peak form, or what they would hope to be their peak form. LAL, DEN, and UTA worse offensively than expected. HOU a disaster on defense. LAC getting PG back. Who's going to separate themselves?

That's what I was going to say, but then I remembered I'm a pessimist and such comments will never leave my mouth.

Somewhat of an quirky stat is Gobert and Favors are averaging the same number of rebounds per 36, which Trey Lyles also is averaging the same number per 36. Obviously not exactly the best way of utilising stats with per100 being more accurate stat but strange none the less.

Andrew Wiggins has been playing really well so far. Maybe he finally figured it out? Still only 24-years old.

The player I really wished the Jazz could've landed some how. Quin could do a world of good for that kid.

I was hoping the Pelicans would upset the Clips tonight, who are playing without Leonard and Beverley, but in looking at the projected lineups, I see the Pels are expected to play without Ingram, Lonzo, Hart and Okafor (in addition to Zion). That's 60 points missing from the Pels' rotation not counting Zion. It's amazing how quickly the Pelicans fell apart after starting the season without Zion and losing a few tough early games. Now they already seem like a team in tank mode with half the players sitting out with injuries.

Paul George will be back for the Clips in his first game this season. I will still root for the Pels to upset the Clips, but I am afraid to bet on it. Go D Fav! Punish the Clips!

D Fav had a monster 20/20 game, including 9 offensive rebounds, in a win over Clips. Jrue Holiday added 35 points while Paul George delivered 33 points on 17 attempts in his first game back.
